Anglet's beaches stretch for 4.5 km from north to south and are bordered by a pathway known as the Promenade Littorale (Victor Mendiboure Promenade), enabling walkers and sports enthusiasts to link the lively La Barre and Chambre d'Amour districts on foot. All along the promenade, there are freely accessible playgrounds, relaxation areas and leisure facilities for all the family. There's a skatepark, a basketball court, beach volleyball courts, children's play areas and sports equipment. From the promenade, you can also see the Izadia ecological park, the Atlanthal thalassotherapy centre and the famous links course at Golf de Chiberta.

Direction Anglet for a bike ride on equipped roads. We leave to the discovery of the forest of Pignada, place of walk and oxygenation privileged of the Angloys. The circuit reveals the privileged passages towards the lake of Chiberta and directs you between the coquettish villas, of Moorish, art-deco or neo-basque style. It also follows the golf courses and offers options for detours to the ocean beaches. Pine forest, labyrinth of villas and proximity to fine sandy beaches, the atmosphere is multiple.

At the end of the 19th century, the emergence of a major iron and steel complex on the Adour Estuary led to far-reaching changes for the town of Tarnos. A major activity in the first half of the 20th century, attracting workers from all over France, the plant was also responsible for the creation of a whole ‘village’: the cité des Forges. The Church of Notre Dame des Forges, the school, the foreman's house and the workers' dwellings still bear witness to this industrial past, which is rather rare in the Landes.

Located in the Blancpignon district, the Forêt du Lazaret, classified as a Sensitive Natural Area, is a place to discover biodiversity. Stretching over 10 hectares along the banks of the Adour, it offers a magnificent view of the spires of Bayonne Cathedral. Today, the forest is a popular leisure area, with footpaths, a green cycling path, picnic areas and relaxation areas on the banks of the Adour. Birdwatching and flora discovery will delight nature lovers. Like the Forêt du Pignada, the Lazaret was planted by man. Maritime pines were planted here as early as the 17th century to stabilize the dune, channel the Adour and protect its new mouth at La Barre, rerouted in 1578 by architect Louis de Foix under Henri III. In the 20th century, it took its name from a now-defunct hospital for quarantined sailors.

At the mouth of the Adour, Izadia ecological park invites you on a discovery of the biodiversity in the wetlands areas. This 14-hectare trail, just as beautiful as it is discrete, allows you to observe the river circulation in 10 stages between the ocean and the northern lake. At the entrance to the park, the Centre for the Environment has a fun-filled and educational display which presents the ecological workings of the coastline. Izadia park allows visitors to understand the balance between natural ecosystems, fauna and flora from the beach, to the birds including the cork oak forest. Izadia is home to a quite remarkable flora which allowed to it be classified as a Natura 2000 Adour site in February 2012.

L'Hermione calls at the Port of Bayonne, Anglet, for her Grand Carénage! This unique ship, an authentic replica of an 18th-century three-master, passed the mouth of the Adour River on September 16, 2021, and remains in dry dock at the Port of Bayonne. During her stay, the Hermione will be welcoming visitors on board. The Hermione is a tall ship with a long history: in 1992, the Hermione-Lafayette association was founded by a group of maritime history enthusiasts, with the aim of rebuilding a late 18th-century frigate in the heart of Rochefort's historic arsenal. Vegetarians will be pleased as many of the dishes, often garnished with vegetables, are made with tofu. The Duong family has been running Le Mékong, a well-known restaurant in Anglet, for 30 years, so it was only natural that in 2021, the daughter Trang set up a new "street food" formula in Tarnos.
