A walk for the whole family, on foot or with a pushchair, to discover a little-known place in Arès: the MGEN park and its Rabbit Trail! On the way, discover the emblematic sites of Arès: oyster port, Arès pier and UFO port! Enough to take many pictures with your children.

This walk allows you to discover one of the most important sites of Arès. Through this loop. You cross the dyked and forested part of the reserve. From February to October, the Tourist Office offers guided tours with a naturalist guide. To know the detailed program, consult the heading Agenda. Practical information: cycling and animals are strictly forbidden.

Go to the Prés Salés nature reserve and cross this space with its different landscapes (reservoirs, forest, salt meadow, dunes...). The footbridge that blends into the landscape allows you to cross the canal of the ponds and to access the part that the locals call the "desert". The MGEN park, still little known, is the guardian of hundred-year-old trees. Follow Robin to learn more about this mystical place. As a family, go from riddle to riddle to learn while having fun. The site of Quinconces remains one of the few "wild" places of the coast north Basin offering a magnificent panoramic view to discover The Pointe des Quinconces, protected and listed in the picturesque heritage of the Gironde, was the favorite walk of Sarah Bernhardt during his stay in Andernos-les-Bains. You can see the old fish tanks dug in 1840 by David Allègre, known for having built the first steam trawler in the world, "the Turbot", in Arès. Following the coastal path northwards, a wooden bridge allows you to cross the Cirès river to reach the beach of Saint-Brice in Arès.

Built between 1868 and 1878, this church contains many curiosities. Composed of hard stones from St-Savinien (Charente-Maritime), its bell tower faces east which is the point of sunrise on September 27th (St Vincent's day). By pushing the oak doors of this religious monument, you will discover the organs installed in 1973. Atypical elements, the clams are actually 2 tridacne shells (shells from the tropics). The stained glass windows were created by the master enameller Raymond Mirande (born in 1932 in Bordeaux). It is to him that we also owe the stained glass windows of the churches of Andernos-les-Bains and St-Emilion.
