Dating from the 12th and 18th centuries, the church is a model of the basic rural sanctuary with a nave limited to 6 metres wide. The apse has a semicircular opening in the axis, above a stone buttress stopped halfway up, a layout that attests to the age of the building. The medieval gutter includes the remains of a semicircular arch opening on to a former chapel that has now disappeared. The arched bell tower, which has no porch, is particularly striking in its sobriety with the entrance door devoid of sculpted decoration.

As early as the Gallo-Roman period, the clay deposits of the Dropt valley favoured the establishment of tile works. At Les Carreaux de Gironde in Morizes, this Gallo-Roman kiln, still in working order, was replaced, for reasons of profitability, by a gas furnace in the 1980s. In the tile factory, it was used to fire 100 tons of terracotta placed precisely according to the desired colour of the tiles. Their firing required 4 days and 4 nights, 50 steres of wood and 4,000 to 5,000 bundles of pine needles.

The chevet of the 12th century Romanesque church is found to house a Gothic bay in the axis. The nave and the southern aisle have a posterior appearance.
