La Chapelle-Montmoreau is located in a landscape where the forest dominates, on a point overlooking the Boulou valley, an important biological reservoir; You can admire some heritage buildings, such as a Romanesque church of the 12th century which has an altarpiece of the 17th century and a Gothic statue of the Virgin and Child. The village of Paussac and its causse are an ideal hiking ground the omnipresent stone is found in the heritage: the dolmen of Peyrelevade, the strange Peyre Dermale also known as the "stone of sacrifices", the semi-troglodytic village of the old Breuil, the climbing cliffs and the Romanesque church which watches over the village.

The area of Paussac is often considered by hikers as a "spot" for hiking, for its rocky paths that crisscross the plateau, the forest and the small valleys of the Sandonie, the Euche or the Boulou.

The Dronne Valley is, according to Harrison Barker, "a tributary of the Isle, which he who has not who has not stifled the love of beauty in his soul cannot see it without being without being overwhelmed by the charm of its gentle influence". The Dronne valley is characterized by its low altitude. On the hills with softened lines framing the banks of the Dronne and its affluents, the small lawns, dry moors and woodlands clinging to the slopes, bring a certain diversification and naturalness to the landscape. Leave for 6 days and 150 km of horseback riding and discover the heritage of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord Limousin. This 5th stage will lead you from Brantôme to Milhac de Nontron (La Glaudie). In Brantôme, the Venice of Perigord, visit the town and admire the 1200 year old abbey. Then head to Champagnac de Bélair where you will notice the Château de la Borie dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. You will be able to make the horses drink at the fountain under the Vaugoubert cave, then you will notice the Château de Vaugoubert listed as a historical monument since 1948. Located on the right bank of the Dronne, it "governs the valley".

Near Mareuil, there is an educational truffle farm to understand how the "black gold of the Périgord" grows. Accessible by footpath, it can be a pleasant and instructive outing for the whole family. The 11 kilometre walk allows you to discover the limestone soils around Mareuil which are ideal for truffle cultivation, and in a hamlet, the small shop of a truffle grower (please let us know the day before you come).

Lussas-et-Nontronneau is a small town that has inherited a beautiful heritage from its long history dating back to the Roman period. Take a walk and discover: a Gallo-Roman "villa" and its bathing area, which attest to the fact that the town was already populated during this period, numerous fiefs and fortified houses, on the site of which were built residences of a defensive nature in the Middle Ages, such as the Château de Beauvais, and numerous churches, most of which still exist today, in spite of major additions and repairs to some of them.

The Saint-Félix church was built in the 12th century. It consists of one single nave terminating in a choir. Outside, the western portal is surmounted by an oculus.

The castle of Richemont, composed of two perpendicular main buildings, was started in 1564 by Pierre de Bourdeille, better known in the history of literature as Brantôme, 16th century chronicler and commendatory abbot of Brantôme. After a fall from a horse which put an end to his military career, the famous writer of the “Lives of Gallant Ladies” wrote his works and lived in Richemont until his death. He is buried in the chapel located in the tower. He wrote his own epitaph. The writer's study, with decorative panelling, and his bedroom are on the first floor.

The plateaux and woods in the village of Saint-Crépin-de-Richemont conceal an unusual story which stretches over a span of several thousand years: the extraction of quern stones. Without them, we would not have had bread in our lives. This original industry left behind labyrinthine quarries strewn with quern stones from Roman to Modern times. Discover these quarries by following the path. The quarrymen will lead you through time to the origin of bread and tell you the story of the men who carved out quern stones from these “Rich Mountains”. Explanatory signs. Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours. Circuit length: 2.7 km. Difference of elevation: 100 m. Walking shoes recommended.

The village of Boulouneix draws its name from the stream Le Boulou. The church of Boulouneix, built in the 12th century, is listed as a historical monument since 1946. The porch is decorated with small columns with capitals sculpted with human figures and animals supporting arches. The choir is decorated with four granite pillars with sculpted capitals. Two mural paintings are to be noted. This charming church is surrounded by a very old cemetery in which old graves cut into the stone have been discovered in 1800. According to an old legend, a 1000 kg bell was immersed into the abyss of Boulouneix at the arrival of the English during the Hundred Years’ War. Since then, at midnight on Christmas Eve, three ringings can be heard.

The little Romanesque style church Saint-Fiacre dates back to the first half of the 12th century. During the Hundred Years’ War, it was fortified and the bell-gable was completed with a defensive chamber on top of the choir. The church was listed as a historical monument in 2008.

Benedictine priory formerly depending of the Abbey of Ligueux, in charge of the care of young women of royal blood. The priory is listed as a historical monument since 1948. Three nuns and one chaplain lived in Belaygue during the French Revolution. The resources of the nuns were driven from the revenues of the church. The roof materials and part of the walls were sold to Mr Gouzon on 5 November 1809 for 281 livres. A fountain dedicated to Saint John, purpose of a famous pilgrimage, was located near the priory.

The Romanesque church Saint-Maurice in Léguillac-de-Cercles was built in the 12th century then fortified in the 15th century. The single nave is covered with two cupolas on pendentives. On top of the second one rises the bell tower.
