The Verteillac region offers a landscape of rolling hills, forming vast undulations. In the past, much of the area was occupied by vineyards, and some of the wines had earned a good reputation.

On this walk around Verteillac, you'll meet a number of producers. You'll also be able to explore the small roads that in the 1950s formed the railroad line between Ribérac and Angoulême. Which will take you through the villages of La Chapelle Montabourlet, Cercles and La Tour Blanche.

This tour offers an alternation of uphill sections, long downhills and full sections. After passing through the small village of Chapdeuil, you'll reach the Grand Brassac viewpoint, offering a 360° panoramic view of the Lisle valley and Montagrier. As you descend, you'll come to the edge of the charming village of Montagrier, which offers a breathtaking view of the Val de Dronne from its belvedere. Continuing on, you pass dry grasslands before reaching St Victor. At the end of the route, the small road follows the old railway line to the village of Coutures, before heading back to the starting point.

From Verteillac, this Vendoire loop takes you to the peat bog area. Along the undulating route, you'll discover several villages offering a variety of landscapes.

This route should offer a great cycling experience through the cantons of Ribérac, Montagrier and Verteillac, highlighting the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region. Castle of the 17th century, registered in the inventory of Historic Monuments... Taking up the H-shaped plan, characteristic of the French style, the castle of Clauzuroux consists of a multi-storey dwelling stretching between two large pavilions with three levels. One can admire the tiled roofs, à la Mansart, decorated with dormer windows, an 18th century portal with a curved pediment above a low arch, an architectural well, terraces and gardens leading to a bridge over the Pude. The castle estate is made up of several buildings that bear witness to the castle's utilitarian and pleasure vocations: the outbuildings, the mill on the Pude forebay, which has retained its mechanism, a steward's house and a barn in its extension, and a circular dovecote with a conical roof. It is one of the finest examples of an 18th century Perigordian manor house.

Working only with fresh products with a menu of the day that changes every day, a more elaborate menu in the evening (in spring and summer) and a slate on Sunday lunch.
