From Terrasson-Lavilledieu to Limeuil where the Vézère river marries the Dordogne, the river runs through one of the most beautiful regions of the Périgord. This sixth stage will take you from Bugue to Limeuil. The Bugue, located at the confluence of the Vézère and the Douch, has been a place of passage since prehistoric times (Bara Bahau cave). The village developed around a convent founded in 964 and the port used by the masters of forges; Then towards Limeuil, a pronounced difference in altitude will allow you to turn around to enjoy a spectacular view of the valley. Le Bugue is a town built on the slopes of the Douch valley. It is composed of several hamlets whose names are evocative: Cantegrel (sings cricket), La Genèbre (brooms). From the hillsides, you will have beautiful views of the surroundings.

The church of Saint Sulpice du Bugue dates from 1876. It then replaced the old church which was located between the town hall and the Vézère river.
