In this hike, you will follow the old railroad, now a greenway, on part of your route. Discover a rich built heritage (railway viaduct, mill, magnificent village of Aillac). Why not take a refreshing dip in the Dordogne, at the foot of the stone bridge linking the towns of Carsac and Grolejac? At the signpost of the path (parking lot of the village), go up to the main road by taking the small paved street in the extension of the D703. At the road, cross carefully and take the lane in front of you, following the yellow markings on cast iron plates. Pass under the greenway through a small tunnel, then immediately left to take the path that runs along the bike path. You can park on the parking lot next to the wash house, from where you can start your hike.

The milling village of Carsac-Aillac has a history linked to water, with the river Enéa whose waters activated several mills since the end of the Middle Ages. Discover 5 mills through this nice walk. Starting from the Carsac signpost, opposite the church, you will embark on a 10 km walk to discover 5 mills. Start with the Moulin d'O, known as the Tavernerie, a former sawmill. Then, go past the Thouron mill, which used to process hemp, before arriving at the Paper mill, which has become an aquaculture farm. Before discovering the Moulin Neuf, the oldest mill on the trail, go to the Enéa mill with its typical Périgord architecture. During the course, will you be able to spot the Marmites des Géants? These natural curiosities are still mysterious: geological or man-made?

It's "the" all-terrain loop! In fact, by mixing paths and bike-roads, you'll be able to enjoy the beauty of the landscape. You'll ride along the Dordogne River, then away from it to discover the village of Calviac-en-Périgord, the "Marmites des Géants" at Carsac and the cliffs of Saint-Rome... And don't forget to pedal!

From the bus stop, you will discover the Bastide of Domme, classified among the "most beautiful villages of France", after 1 km of walking. Then, you will go down towards the Dordogne during 2km before taking a path which goes along the river. Halfway down, you will arrive in a second "Most beautiful village of France": La Roque-Gageac, with houses flanking the rock. At the end of the route, you will reach a third "Most beautiful village": Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, whose medieval castle proudly dominates the Dordogne

On the edge of a vertiginous cliff, Domme " Most beautiful villages of France " offers an exceptional panorama on the valley of the Dordogne. Surrounded by ramparts, the 19th century bastide recounts a tumultuous past illustrated by its fortified gates and towers which were used as a prison by the Templars at the beginning of the 14th century and then by French and English soldiers during the Hundred Years War. At the beginning of the 14th century, Philippe Le Bel abolished the Templar order. Some knights of the neighbouring commanderies were then locked up in the bastide. Their prison, the Gate of the Towers, keeps the memory of these years of captivity. The visitor will also discover the house of the coin-beater and that of the Consuls, the old market hall and the Governor's residence. Call sign at the pradal car park (outside the bastide). Take the obligatory exit from the car park. Turn left and then right just before the rescue centre. Go down to the crossroads (there is a cross) and go left. Go straight on, you will pass behind the football stadium. Continue for 1.4kms and turn right into the undergrowth (at the village of Ventoulines) You will go down to the place called Reille, and turn left. Go up to the edge plain. Once at the edge of the plain, continue and pass in front of the airfield of Domme Continue for 1.4kms (wide path + road). You will arrive at the top of the Pradal car park.

Former pilgrimage route of 180 kilometers allowing to join the Périgord to Rocamadour, this magnificent course is from now on marked out, and allows in full safety to cross the vineyards and hills bergeracoises, before skirting the green valley Dordogne and its cliffs, to arrive in the valley of Ouysse.For this 9th stage from Domme, you will visit this bastide also called the acropolis of the Périgord, and then head for Grolejac, not without having admired the view over the Dordogne valley from the panoramic terrace.

The village of Domme, perched on an imposing cliff, is an ancient bastide, registered on the list of the "most beautiful villages of France". The visit of the village allows the discovery of a rich heritage. From the windmill, passing by the 18th century fountains, the milling path leads to the plain of Bord, a vast plateau of 4 km² culminating at 300 meters of altitude. For several centuries, mill workers will, in difficult and dangerous working conditions, extract millstones for the mills of the country and beyond.

From Groléjac, the path turns away from the Dordogne valley and heads towards Sarlat La Canéda, along a greenway located on an old railroad line. The forest is omnipresent, overlooking the small valleys and leaving the hiker wide shoulders. Between Sarlat and Carlux, the Sarladais hillsides offer glimpses through the forest to villages with their blond stone and traditional architecture.

You will begin the hike by the village of Veyrignac, typical village of the Périgord Noir. Your route will be marked out by beautiful stone buildings: fountain, stone hut, mills... From the call sign located on the municipal parking lot, join the road and go left in the direction of "Château de Fénelon". After 30m, at the crossroads, take the small road on the left. 100m further, at the gate of a large property, turn right and follow the stone wall. After about 50m, turn right towards the church, then the communal oven. At the end of the village, leave the road and take a grassy path on the right that goes down to a fountain. Vitrac is made up of three charming hamlets: le Port, le Bourg and Montfort. Vitrac Port watches over the current of the Dordogne and owes its success to this river, once through fishing and shipping, and nowadays through water sports. Recently the Port has been fitted out to allow yachtsmen to moor their canoe/boat during a trip down the river. Contrary to appearances, the boundaries of Vitrac are not limited to the few houses surrounding the castle, now in ruins.
