Welcome to the Queyssac orchid trail. On this hiking trail, you will find all along the paths a very large number of wild orchids in the right season and, all year round, hamlets, flora and small heritage!

This loop allows you to discover the village of St Georges de Montclard dominated by the private castle of the 11th century. You will also be able to admire the houses with typical roofs of the region, some of which have preserved galleries and wooden balconies. On the village square, you will find the market hall rebuilt in the 18th century, testifying to the economic importance of the area in the past. Your walk will take you to the hamlet of Saint-Georges, through which flows the river of the same name, where you will find the 11th century church, which was built on an ancient place of worship. Inside, there is a space dedicated to Saint Rita, patron saint of desperate causes.

Welcome to the hamlets loop. This 7.2 km loop takes you along the right bank of the Caudeau. After admiring the Romanesque church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption and the medieval Château de Montastruc, listed as a historic monument, you'll discover some magnificent stone hamlets.

Welcome to the easternmost loop of the Lamonzie-Montastruc commune, at the gateway to the Liorac forest. The 9.8 km route takes you along the Louyre watershed to admire the remains of a former flagship of the local economy: tobacco growing. From the 17th to the 20th century, tobacco cultivation had a lasting impact on the Dordogne valley. After several stages of intense threshing, the tobacco passed through these drying kilns before being packaged and sent off to the world's cigarette markets.

Welcome to Lamonzie Montastruc on the forest loop. This 11.5 km loop takes you to the heights of the village, in the heart of the forest. After admiring the Romanesque church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption and the medieval château de Montastruc, listed as a historic monument, you'll head off into the forest and hamlets.

The ophrys is a variety of wild orchid that will mark out your route. The ophrys loop is a 5.5 km walk, along which you can enjoy both nature and history. A mystical and peaceful discovery for a village that saw so much fighting during the Hundred Years' War.

Since 2020, La Maison Forte de la Massinie has been home to a pig farm. Jean and Sibylle Desmarest moved there to preserve one of the last French pig breeds, the Gascon black pig. These pigs are born on the farm and raised outdoors between the plains and the forest on more than 6 hectares of land. The farm also has a truffle field. The products are processed in Périgord according to traditional recipes (without nitrites) : sausage, coppa, dried loin, exceptional ham, terrines and preserves. They are available all year round in the farm shop, by appointment. The farm also offers platters for your events and raclette platters for the winter, available by reservation. The farm welcomes visitors and offers tours/tastings: history of the breed, tour of the farm and tasting (aperitif platter).

This 14th century château underwent extensive renovation in the early 20th century using Leo Drouyn’s plans with grounds designed by Gabriel Perdoux. Its past is closely bound to the Château de Montastruc to the north of the village of Lamonzie-Montastruc which they both tower above at the confluence between the Louyre and Caudeau. Château de Bellegarde has belonged to the same family since the mid-19th century and is home to beautiful receptions rooms, a library, dining room and more furnished entirely with several Aubusson tapestries. This is a real family home whose interiors reflect how wealthy landowners lived in the early 20th century. A walk in the grounds enables visitors to admire Bellegarde’s architecture in all its glory and enjoy panoramic views of Caudeau Valley.
