A 3.5 km walk in the heart of the village of Azay-sur-Thouet to discover its main assets and learn all about its history.

A 10.5 km route in the commune of Azay-sur-Thouet. This itinerary will lead you to the village of Trébesse, passing through Pisseloube and the wash house.

This hiking trail allows you to discover the town of Saint-Aubin-le-Cloud. It is characterized by the permanent presence of water (river, ponds, lake) and allows you to discover the floristic wealth of the Gâtine, in particular numerous species of trees. It offers unusual views of the town.

This route has been developed to enhance the natural wealth and historical heritage of the stream le Palais. The reach of the old Chabosse mill was developed in 2015 by the Syndicat Mixte de la Vallée du Thouet (SMVT), supported by the owner's desire to restore the old course of the Palais to a more natural functioning. Designed, developed and animated in partnership with the town hall of Saint-Aubin le Cloud and the association Deux-Sèvres Nature Environnement, the path is marked out with photos and gives you access to the riches of a preserved site.

Departure: exit from Chabosse in the direction of Pougne. Possibility to continue to the Satière, a hill where there were two windmills (one is still visible) attached to the watermill of Chabosse. Go back on your steps. Roblin : old stone quarry. To the south of the route, take the path of the crests (locally called the path of Ver-noux). Before turning right, you go along a "fruitière" (apple orchard) topped by anti-hail nets. Shortly after La Barralière, you cross a private property that has been left untouched for forty years by the owner of the mill so that nature can take over. Passage on a few tens of meters between the Palace and the mill's reach. On this same sector, a discovery trail "On the edge of the Palais" has been set up in order to enhance the riches of the stream.

At Secondigny (Plan d'eau des Effres), Pougne (Nombril du Monde) or Parthenay (Voie Verte), take the start for the small or big loop and open your ears wide... Follow the wooden arrows with a bicycle and pink directional arrows (except on the green way). In Parthenay, between the leisure centre and the greenway, follow the black directional arrows indicating this destination. The gîte is located in the heart of the medieval quarter. On the first floor, there is a garage for bicycles and strollers, but no cars. The gîte comprises an open-plan space on the second floor, divided into a living room, kitchen and dining area with a medieval fireplace. This floor opens onto a courtyard with garden furniture. The second floor comprises the master bedroom with double bed (140 cm x 190 cm) overlooking the medieval street, a second bedroom with two single beds (90 cm x 190 cm), a study, toilet and shower. The interior of the gîte is non-smoking. Down the street, you'll find a bar-grocer's store 50 meters away, as well as other bars and restaurants 200 meters away, near the Saint-Jacques tower and the Thouet river. The lofty Saint-Hilaire church, a listed Historic Monument, dates from the end of the 15th century and is a beautiful example of a church made of Gâtine granite .

New for 2024, Secondigny was awarded the "Station Verte" label on February 09.

Very little modified since the 12th century, the parish church of Saint-Saturnin is in the style of Romanesque buildings in Gâtine. With an elongated plan, it consists of a flat chevet choir, lit by a large Gothic bay, and a single nave. The whole is vaulted with a broken barrel vault, with the exception of the bay under the bell tower, which is covered with a dome on trunks. The latter supports an octagonal bell tower reminiscent of those of Parthenay-le-Vieux, Secondigny, Fenioux or Allonne. The western portal is protected by a "ballet" porch, rebuilt in the middle of the 19th century. At that time, the church was subject to minor alterations: repair of the vault, enlargement of the choir bay and drilling of the rose window.

Rectangular plan construction, made of limestone, simple and uncluttered, with a small bell tower without bell placed in the front. The interior is panelled and houses several 18th and 19th century tombstones, some of which are emblazoned. In addition to the tomb of François Allard, there is also that of Armand Bouchet de L'Ingremière, who died in 1820, knight of Saint Louis, brigadier of the Musketeers, inspector of the Poitou stud farms, that of Charlotte Bouchet, that of Rosalie Charlotte Merland, wife of Pierre Jean Baptiste Bouchet, and that of a little girl who died in 1744.

Private property. This priory was founded in the 12th century by William IV the Archbishop, Lord of Parthenay. Towards the end of the 16th century, it suffered the troubles and squandering due to the Wars of Religion. In 1769, the conventual measures were extinguished and the income of the priory applied to the seminary of Saint-Charles de Poitiers. The grandmontain chapels have a nave without transept or collaterals. There are no side windows to illuminate the nave. The choir of this chapel is of Gothic style, with a hemicycle inside and five sides on the outside. Seven semicircular arches, supported by eight small columns with capitals decorated with water leaves, receive the thrust of the vaults. The chapel opens through a Limousin-style door with three chamfered arches in the recesses of which two toroids are housed.

L'Écu de France is a hotel restaurant located in the heart of Secondigny, between Niort and Bressuire. A new restaurant has opened its doors at the campsite Le Bois Vert. François Montillet and Florence Cotonnec manage the campsite.
