With your family, on the path Vuache Nature, become an "Environmental Detective", by finding the hidden words on the panels along the path. The leaflets can be downloaded from the SIAV website. The path is signposted along its entire length and has picnic tables, drinking water and a botany trail displaying some thirty varieties of plant. Part of the trail is accessible to people with reduced mobility. There are two versions of the trail taking 3 hrs to copmlete (7.5 km) or 4 hrs (9.5 km).

As you pass through the forest on the hillside and across the fields of crops on the plateau, you can find out all about the natural environment thanks to fifteen thematic information boards designed by schoolchildren in the Vuache area. This walk located in the municipalities of Jonzier-Epagny, Chênex, Dingy-en-Vuache and Savigny, will reveal your detective soul, finding the hidden words in the educational panels of the trail (designed by children). There are 2 Detective Nature booklets (available on the website of the Pays du Vuache), each in the form of a question/answer game, where all the questions find their solutions in the 15 educational panels of the trail. They are aimed at budding naturalists aged «8-10 years» and «over 10 years», accompanied by their parents

The paths pass through the Bois du Ban forest, a pleasant place to discover all kinds of animal tracks. Finally, a path follows the ancient Roman road through the Genevois region. A route with beautiful views.

This walk reveals the Vuache area's rural heritage - churches and villages, old farmhouses, agricultural traditions and legends. From the village of Chênex, discover this hike without difficulty in a rich and preserved natural setting. Take the time to discover the church of Chênex of neo-Romanesque style dating from 1881 and its tabernacle classified at the national level, as well as the center of the village. You will discover the landscapes of the plain, the Bois du Mont, the hamlet of Bellossy, the woods in Reynauds, and admire the view of the Alps. Between hamlets, forests and orchards, this hike is ideal for a morning or an afternoon with the family. No danger on this route, your children will be able to walk freely in the countryside of Chênex.

This loop will take you through four characterful villages at the foot of Mont Vuache, with magnificent views over the Geneva plain. Following the gentle slopes of the Vuache foothills, this easy hike will introduce you to the rural areas of this region. The itinerary is marked by signposts describing the landscapes and environments crossed.

A footpath that straddles the Franco-Swiss border reveals the many hidden or forgotten faces of the architectural, historic, rural and natural heritage of the Geneva Basin. Sightseeing: the remains of the Roman tile-making works in Fargout Woods, the Roman encampment in Chancy, the tile-making works, the castle and church in Pougny, an old bridge over the River Rhône, Chancy Bridge, the old ford across the Rhône, the woodlands and riverbanks, the islands downstream from Collonges (once a river crossing), l'Etournel (biotope protected by a Prefectoral Order), border stone no. 1 (Vers-Vaux) dating from 1816, the fluvio-glacial terraces, the steps and the Sardinian marker. This route allows you to reach the hamlet of 'La Joux' with the option to go on to Viry. The return trip can be made on another path which goes through the forest and then alongside Nant di Longet. Be careful, the descent to the river is quite steep

This route allows you to rejoin the 'In the footsteps of the Huguenots' route known as 'A la Goille' and passes close to the A40 service station, You can then continue as far as Jurens, a hamlet in Dingy. Return by the same route, or by following the GR 965 towards Valleiry. Finally, you can reach the village of Chênex by following the departmental signs for "Au bois d'Amont / Sur les Pas des Huguenots".

This stage of around 25 km (depending on variations) is fairly challenging, but will allow you to discover very varied locations: the famous Genevois wine growing region and its bucolic villages. The main difficulty is at the start of the route with an ascent of around 1.5 km on a shaded road to the customs. After this the crossing of villages is easy and punctuated with roundabouts, which slows down motor-vehicle traffic. It is possible to refuel in nearly all the villages.

Located in the west of the Haute-Savoie département, between the towns of Saint-Julien-en-Genevois and Frangy, the Vuache mountain range stretches eleven kilometers from the Défilé de l'Ecluse to Chaumont, reaching an altitude of 1106 meters. On the foothills of the Vuache mountains, in the heart of a preserved natural environment, come and discover a network of almost 150 km of marked hiking and mountain bike trails, for a "Family - Basket" hike. Numerous tourist facilities await you: parking lots and picnic tables, information panels, discovery trails, orientation tables, etc.

It was in 1881 that the Chenex church, in the Neo-Roman style, was built. Inside this holy place, 2 objects are listed at the national level: the tabernacle from the Pomier Charterhouse from the 17th century and the Virgin from the 18th century. You will also discover an impressive organ, dating from 1842 and coming from the cathedral of Alger. Why such a long journey for this instrument? It was Monseigneur Duval, originally from Chênex and cardinal at Alger, who offered it to the parish in 1984. Remaining in Algeria after the independence, he is buried at Notre Dame d'Afrique (Alger)

The path to the summit of the Vuache leads into a clearing where you can enjoy the view of the Bornes mountains and Mont Blanc, the Semine plateau and the Crêtes du Jura.

From the pedestrian bridge dating back to 1721, over which the Santiago de Compostela (GR 65) passes, admire the ‘marmites de géants’ (cavities dug into the limestone). From the road bridge, admire the top of the Barbannaz waterfall (not accessible).

As you approach Saint-Symphorien along the Nant Trouble path, at the junction with a carriage road stands a cross that provides an excellent rural viewpoint over the Usses valley.

The chapelle de Charly or chapelle Saint-Jacques is a 15th-century building. The bell tower was listed as a Monument Historique on May 12, 1975. The building was commissioned in 1454 by Jacques Fusier, a local religious dignitary. A fire at the end of the 15th century led to the rebuilding of the church in 1541. In 1787, a second fire led to the construction of the present bulbous bell tower.

On the first wall, on the left, a young woman appears to be listening to the sounds of the sea inside a scallop shell. The right-hand wall focuses on detail: the hand holding the shell is older than the young woman's face. The artist signs a metaphor for our cultural heritage, and recounts what the Camino de Compostela evokes for him. It is a story of transmission between generations. The two women, symbolic of two eras, are linked by a common history and temporality, that of the road. Born in Sicily in 1988, Alberto Ruce lives in Marseille and works between France and Italy, both in situ and in his studio. His pictorial universe is dreamlike. Transparency, tone-on-tone and evanescent subjects characterize his works. They explore human sensory perception and our relationship with nature. He pays particular attention to the history of the places he invests. His gestures blend into the supports that welcome them, so much so that the viewer may pass by without seeing them at first glance.

The Bouchon Lyonnais on the outskirts of Geneva. The staff at the Café du Rhône will welcome you every weekday lunchtime. Gégé and Guillaume work hand-in-hand with Jean-Marc who is the inspiration and chef of this well-established local restaurant. After 20 years of service in the city of Lyon, Jean-Marc has gone back to the Rhône to concoct his local specialities for you: Lyon salad bowl Warm lamb tongue with an invigorating sauce Andouillette Homemade pike quenelles with crayfish sauce Tête de veau (Head of veal) Liver gâteau and many other local specialities to discover such as The tablier de sapeur Tripe stew Gourmet cuisine with a touch of the brasserie atmosphere.
