This circuit is part of the FFVélo Haute-Corrèze mountain bike base, the largest mountain bike area in France with its 1000 km of marked circuits. From the same starting point, the more athletic will be able to follow the longer circuits (circuits 2, 3 and 4). Ideal for a family with children starting to ride. Routes over several days are possible with accommodation solutions nearby (campsites, gîtes, bed and breakfast, holiday village...). Mountain bike rental point: all year round at the Château de la Diège, in summer at Sèchemailles.

An amazing viewpoint overlooking the highest volcano in metropolitan France, the Puy de Sancy. At 1,885 metres above sea level, this summit is the highest point of the Massif Central. The two streams, the Dore and the Dogne, originate there, and their confluence forms the Dordogne.

In Ussel, 19th-century landscaped park with fine specimen redwood and Douglas fir trees, small waterfalls on the slope behind the château, conservatory orchard of old apple varieties, with plant labeling.

Place Voltaire in Ussel is home to this Roman eagle, sculpted from granite. It was discovered near the Peuch mill, south-east of Ussel. Dating from the Roman period, it may have crowned a burial monument that no longer exists. Headless when first discovered, it was added in 1804 by sculptor Pic when it was erected in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte's coronation. The eagle is a feminine noun when it becomes a symbol of the Roman or Napoleonic empire.

Opened in 1976, this "Museum of France" is devoted to the history, arts and traditions of the Ussel region, between the Millevaches plateau, the Triouzoune valley and the upper Dordogne valley. 

Place Voltaire in Ussel is the home of this Roman eagle, carved in granite. It was discovered near the Peuch mill southeast of Ussel. Dating from the Roman period, it could have been placed over a funerary monument that had disappeared. Without a head when it was discovered, a head was added in 1804 by the sculptor Pic in honour of the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte. The eagle is a feminine name when it becomes a symbol of the Roman or Napoleonic empire.

The Musée du Pays d'Ussel, classified as a Musée de France, is housed in a complex of four buildings and offers a collection of art and folk traditions, tapestries from the Marche region, printing equipment and religious art. - The 18th-century Hôtel Bonnot de Bay: display cases housing the tools of craftsmen of yesteryear (clog maker, carpenter, blacksmith, weaver). - The Maison Moncourier-Beauregard: here you can discover all the objects used for preparing, cooking and preserving food. The saddler's workshop has also been installed here. - The printing works: the heart of the museum, it houses machines from two printing works that operated in Ussel... In summer, visual artist and lithographer Patrick Sauvat runs lithography workshops!

On the last buttresses of the Plateau of Millevaches, between Sarsonne and Diège, Ussel, city of Ventadour illustrates well the medieval past of Corrèze.
