Originally from nearby Normandy, we fell in love with this magnificent farmhouse, where the countryside as far as the eye can see still harbours all the bugs and field flowers that enchanted our childhood. Come and enjoy our jams (more than 10 types of fruit on the estate) and the pastries that Philippe will be sure to prepare for you with his legendary good humour. Each of our rooms has its own entrance opening onto the garden and a 160x200 cm bed. They are also fitted out and decorated with raw, local materials (Mayenne cloth, exposed stonework, beams, etc.). La Drouennière: a friendly, welcoming place for our friends and family, and for you!

The site is ideal for exploring Mont des Avaloirs and the entire western part of the Normandie Maine Regional Nature Park. Just below the gîte, the Sarthon flows into the Sarthe. You're at the crossroads of 3 départements: Mayenne, Sarthe and Orne. The natural environment is remarkable. The Domaine de Trotté is a municipal site open to the public. The village of Saint Pierre des Nids is 4km away and has all the local shops you need. For leisure activities, you can go to the Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei leisure centre, just over 1km away, where you can go canoeing and kayaking, or to Saint Léonard des Bois (accrobranche course, rock-climbing, ULM). River fishing, just below the gîte (map required). Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei has been awarded the "Plus beaux villages de France" label. It's an exceptional place to recharge your batteries and breathe! You can discover the Mont des Avaloirs and the entire southern part of the Normandie Maine Regional Nature Park. You'll find carp up to 7kg, pike from 30 to 70cm and roach up to 20cm. Fishing is no-kill. If you don't fish, you can enjoy the park's shady spots under the oak and albizia trees. The Chèreperrine castle is a vestige of an impressive mansion from the 18th century, built by the Marquise des Alleurs, mistress of the Grand Dauphin. Partially destroyed by a fire in 1925, only the central part remains. A chapel shelters a beautiful trompe l'oeil from the 19th century. Guided tour of the chapel and the ice house (1757).

Since 2010, the gardens have been laid down around buildings that are currently being restored and are typical of the Perche region, including a 15th and 16th century manor house, a farm house, seigniorial barn, stables and pigsties, bakery, hemp oven and covered well. The Estate has an interest of art and history because of its typical evolution of a large land area in the Perche from the 17th to the 19th century. Few castles in the Perche can be proud of the signing of many architects and landscape renowned as Lonné.

On an area of more than 35 000m², a plantation of 291 trees were made in 1997. The first part puts together 8 different types of trees (leaves and pins) and after a few turns, you can discover the second part fully dedicated to the oaks. The regular overflowing of the river Sarthe miraculously spared this area from the development undergone by its surroundings; the Fuie des Vignes is a wild natural area located between two districts in Alençon.
