Legend has it that goats used to graze on this saltpetre-covered hill. Other hills with remarkable views, dotted with churches, castles and large farms are worth discovering.

The rivers of Albret draw asymmetrical valleys. The left bank with gentle slopes is often wooded. The right bank is steeper and gives way to a very fertile narrow plateau.

Through the hillsides of Gascony, from the gateway to the Gers to the Garonne valley, there are many viewpoints Montagnac, Moncaut or Saint-Cirice or Beaulens allow you to discover the villages of the richly cultivated hills, almost idyllic landscapes to observe as the seasons go by Sometimes, the gaze goes further towards the long ribbon of the Pyrenees which is cut in zigzags on the horizon.

Built on a hill, the village of Francescas, dominates hillsides and valleys. This village was first formed around the church and then, in 1286, Edward I transformed it into a bastide. It is then enclosed in fortifications and surrounded by moats. The access is made by four doors, damaged during the wars of Religion, they are destroyed in the eighteenth century. Today, you can see a house whose facades date from the 16th century, which houses a museum of tin cans. 500 pieces from England and elsewhere are on display. Before leaving the bastide, look for the house of La Hire, companion of Joan of Arc, which dates from the 13th century On this circuit, you will see representative pigeon lofts of Albret with original roofs on the round tower of the bastide of Francescas, built on round pillars, stones in Terrette or square tower in Coussire.

The Perrou, a small stream between Lasserre and Francescas, has been adorned in a few years with several water reservoirs. They appear from the heights like pearls, mirrors of the surrounding fields.

The south of Albret is the heart of the A.O.C. Armagnac-Ténarèze. Crossing the vineyards, you will smell the powerful perfumes of this brandy produced in old and traditional copper stills.

The commune of Lannes, in the heart of the Albret country, is composed of hilly landscapes, bordered by the Landes forest, and by the Auzoue and Osse rivers. In 1287, the castrum is held by Bertrand de Grauhet. It is more particularly a castelnau. The town was then a border post with a garrison of 20 soldiers. It has a fortified church to the east, a castle to the west, and ramparts complete this defensive set. From the 16th century to the Revolution, the lordship of Villeneuve is the property of the family of Noillan. It depends on the royal justice of Mézin. The economy of Lannes is essentially based on agriculture and the production of wine, Armagnac and Floc de Gascogne, local aperitifs.

This circuit allows you to discover, from the ridge paths, numerous panoramas on the hillsides of Gascony, delimiting the departments of Gers and Lot-et-Garonne. You can also see the bastide of Lamontjoie, founded in 1298 on a regular plan, with a central square and a parish church. It is surrounded by ramparts and ditches which were transformed into a garden at the end of the 18th century. Outside the walls of the bastide, two convents were founded in the 17th century: that of the Cordeliers in 1623 and that of the Poor Clares in 1667, of which a wing and part of the cloister have been preserved.

This easy walk takes place in the rounded hills of the Gascony hillsides, accompanying for a few kilometres the pilgrims towards Santiago de Compostela, for whom the goal is 1063 km, the distance indicated on the totem pole installed by the FFRandonnée.

Located in the heart of the village, next to the municipal library, this museum of clothing and fashion offers 2 very different rooms. First of all, the one of the old local clothes, with cradles, dolls, children's clothes (baptism, communion, school,...), and adults' clothes and underwear for daily life, parties, weddings... Then a space Michel GOMA, dedicated to the high fashion. Michel Goma is a child of Moncrabeau, who has made his entire career in haute couture (Patou, Balenciaga,...). He travelled the world and the press articles that trace his career make us discover an international notoriety, even before his 30th birthday. He had not forgotten his village and gave to the museum more than 2000 drawings, 60 clothes. A book retraces his brilliant career. Some of the drawings are on sale to help restore the church.

Moncrabeau's library is full of books to borrow. Adjacent to the Michel Goma museum, you will find a large number of novels for adults and teenagers as well as an area dedicated to the youngest. The library hosts a variety of exhibitions that allow the animation of this small cultural center located in the heart of the village of liars.

The fortified town of Francescas is situated in the hilly area between the Baïse and the Grand Auvignon valleys. Built around a 10th century Benedictine monastery, the bastide draws its name from the houses’ tax exemption (or franchise) granted by Charles IX. It has an irregular circular shape and a simple main street instead of a town square. The town’s layout has changed over the years, but the wooden-panelled and stone houses remain, as does the house which belonged to Joan of Arc’s companion, La Hire.

This museum houses an important collection of tin cans from all over the world. Some of the items in the collection are antiques.

Antoine and Robert de Langalerie's farm grows cereals, vines and plum trees. It produces Armagnac and Floc de Gascogne, prunes from Agen, plain or with Armagnac. The castle is an old monastery of the XIIth century. The ageing cellar is located in the old chapel adjoining an inner courtyard that used to be the cloister.
