This circuit of just over 4 km is ideal for a short stroll and for families with young children. The flat route is accessible to baby carriages, and there is a small heritage trail to observe. Departure point: parking place du 19 mars 1962, Colondannes.

A pleasant hike with many contrasts, divided between the plains and the hills. You move from the small, rural valley formed by the Ruisseau du Mas to the wilder area of the Combes de la Cazine. The panorama is unobstructed, the surroundings intimate, and the streams gurgling more or less loudly depending on the season. The route may be damp on the plains, but is well drained on the hillsides. There are a few climbs along the way, and good footwear is recommended. We advise you to follow the route anticlockwise.

Panoramic views and panoramic vistas are the order of the day on this tour, which begins with a leisurely warm-up in a bocage landscape, before gradually climbing up the slopes of the Bois de Chabannes. A rapid descent to the Brézentine plain and a final climb conclude this tour of the Dunois countryside.

The old line from St Sébastien to Guéret, around 45 kms long, operated from 1886 to 1940 for passengers and in 1952 for freight. Impacted by the development of road infrastructures and a decision by the SNCF, it closed definitively on May 18, 1952. Decommissioned on August 16, 1955, the line was handed back to the communes, and then sometimes to private individuals who bought the cottages, from 1959 onwards. The reopening of the old railroad line, now known as the Echappée verte, was made possible by the Communauté de communes du Pays dunois and the work of numerous volunteers during 2022 and 2023. L'Echappée verte is now open to leisure activities such as hiking, mountain biking and horse riding.

Set off with your trusty steed along a variety of landscapes and hilly paths, alternately wooded and rural. This circuit will take you from ponds to castles along shady paths. You'll discover the Tour de Bridiers site and its medieval garden, following paths dating back to Gallo-Roman times. Other surprises await you on this tour where history has left its mark.

Departure from the Bois de Chabannes parking lot. This is a fast, rolling circuit... Don't forget the typical passage through the Chabannes woods, where you pass the summit. Take care on the descent between Les Ribières and Le Peyrat, and when crossing the D5 twice. There are also two very nice crossings on footbridges over the Got and Brezenty streams.

Departure from Place du champ de foire, Dun le Palestel. It's an ideal mix of rolling trails and technical sections. Some sections have been reopened especially for mountain bikes. The very beginning is a pleasant warm-up along the disused railroad line (you pass several gatekeepers? houses). Beware of the length of the route (almost 30km) and therefore of effort management.

The Combes de la Cazine site is located in north-west Creuse. It is easily accessible from the village of Colondannes, where it is signposted. The name alone evokes the two key features of the area: rocky escarpments and a river. Les Combes, forming narrow valleys, are linked to a geological fault aligned from west to east. This shear zone exposes the granite formations of the area, revealing micro-cliffs and boulders of varying sizes. Irrigating the entire study area, the Cazine resembles an artery; the river criss-crosses the valley, which widens as soon as it leaves the faulted area, giving way to gentler slopes and greener landscapes. It is a XVI century funeral chapel, with a ribbed vault with bridgings and tiercerons, which contained the tombs of neighbouring lords. On one side and the other of this chapel are two statues, in a popular style, made from polychrome wood and representing Saint Léger, patron saint of the Saint Roch parish.
