This path will allow you to appreciate the remarkable troglodytic heritage of the picturesque villages where the troglos were dug in the local blacnhe stone, the tuffeau. It will lead you to the heart of the vineyards, where famous grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc or Pinot Blanc de Loire are grown.

A short, signposted route through the Poitou vineyards at the gateway to Anjou. Within a small area, the historic and built heritage is incomparably rich: picturesque villages, troglodytic sites, mills, dolmens, wash-houses and dovecotes form an uninterrupted string of secret nuggets.

This itinerary passes by the "Reine Blanche" bridge, named in homage to the passage of Queen Blanche of Castille in the 12th century. Cross the narrow streets dug in the tufa stone, the vineyards, discover the troglodyte dwellings, castles and chapels and finally come to admire the unique canal of the Dive in Poitou.

On the borders of Poitou and Anjou, Saix offers visitors its Poitevin hamlet, marked by the memory of Sainte-Radegonde. This path allows views on castles or wine estates, with beautiful panoramas on the North of Poitou where the vine and the tuffeau are married.

At the exit of the village of Saix, the path introduces you little by little in a forest environment. Come and live a pleasant moment in contact with these majestic trees. This circuit will make you see several dolmens, a "mound" where large slabs were collected by our ancestors of the Neolithic, a hike that alternates between fields and undergrowth that crosses pretty villages.

This former winegrower's farmhouse is nestled in the heart of the village of Le-Puy-Notre-Dame, 20 minutes from Saumur, with a beautiful view over the Thouet valley, a river in the west of France. To get there, you'll pass through the vineyards and wine cellars of this town of character. You'll be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of this exceptional location, with its incomparable comfort and authentic charm. Savoir-vivre and conviviality are undoubtedly the words that best characterise the Ch'ti origins of the owners.

This bridge was built in the thirteenth century to span the Thouet. His crossing was subjected to a "tithe" tax in kind (wheat, rye ...) paid by farmers. Partially destroyed by German troops in August 1944, it was rebuilt in 1966, when the construction of a stronger and wider bridge was made close to the old, to meet a passing vehicle more greater. Today, the arches of the old bridge are now visible through regular maintenance of land nearby. Characteristic of the territory, it is the largest medieval bridge kept Thouarsais. Included in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments since 1943.

You will find many varied plants of various origins as well as a collection of remarkable plants (hellebores, irises, peonies, roses, asters, hemerocallis, etc...). The owners select the plants and maintain the park according to the principles of organic agriculture without any synthetic chemicals. Throughout your visit, the local fauna will be presented to you, in particular the birds and bats (nesting boxes, food...). Also wine growers, the owners will make you discover the vineyards of the bourg Joly which are integrated into the park.

The Château du Bois de Sanzay, built in the 15th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, has beautiful architectural features. In the French gardens stands a surprising dovecote.
