Then go straight down, as far as the château wall, and follow it to the road (D10).Go up the D10 towards Crocq; just after the small road going up on the right, take the GR 4 on the left. Continue on the path to St. Alvard's chapel.At the chapel, go down the road and take the first path on the right. At the end of this road, turn left towards the Crocq - Dimpoux road.Cross the road and go up alongside the wood. Continue to the Urbe crossroads.Cross the Crocq-Flayat road and take the old Roman road opposite. Continue to the small road that leads to Naberon and turn right to the D 28.Cut across the road to take the opposite path between the meadows.Turn right at the first and then the second junctions. At the third, go up the rise on the left, and you will find a pleasant descent to Crocq and the road which goes back up to the village.

From dolmens to dungeons, discover the history of Crocq and its surroundings.Go down the main street towards La Courtine. Go past the college and take the first road on the left, in the direction of Laval.In the village of Laval, turn left on the downhill road, signposted "le Dolmen"; go through the woods.Go up slightly towards the clearing where the dolmen is located and follow the path, which, on the way down, joins the Laval-Dimpoux road.Turn left (100 m before the road) on the road leading to Saint-Alvard.Go up to the chapel and, at the top on the left, take the path that goes between the meadows and then into the wood.Follow the path straight ahead (leaving the path on the right that goes up to La Mazerette). After the stream, turn right onto the uphill path into the wood and follow it straight on until you reach the road to Crocq.Cross the road and take the passage opposite to go up towards the village.

Start : Place Georges Hubert Marking : Yellow 1 - Go down the main street towards La Courtine; turn right onto the road which passes the Gendarmerie. 2 - After the school, turn right towards Magnat l'Étrange; pass H.L.M. and take the track opposite; go up along the edge of the meadows and then into the woods. 3 - Continue to the next junction; follow the road slightly to the left between the meadows for about 250 m; fork left to the crossroads. 4 - Take the Naberon-Les Corrades road for 100 m, then the left-hand track; continue straight on 5 - Turn left onto the track leading down to the Urbe pond, then back up to the D 996 road 6 - Turn right and follow the D 996 for 250 m; on the left, take the track leading up to Puy Senimont 7 - Turn left onto the gravel path leading down to the entrance to Crocq.

Departure: Place Georges Hubert Trail Marking: Yellow Go down the D 996 towards Flayat/La Courtine. Just before the sports field, take the D 28 on the right, and 400 meters further, take a path on the right in front of the housing estate, then enter the woods. Upon exiting the woods, turn left. At the second intersection, turn left and follow the path straight until you reach the D 28. Cross the road towards Naberon Haut, go through the village, ignore the sign for Côte Bertrand, and take a left; then turn left again until you reach Montel Guillaume. Pass the chapel on your right, and about 100 meters after the last house in the village, take a path to the left and go straight for 1 km through the woods. At the end of the path, at the intersection, take a right onto a path that climbs through conifers to reach the junction of the D 996 and D 9. Cross straight ahead onto the path

As you leave this small village, you will discover an old mill that used to soften hemp sheets.From Crocq, head in the direction of Basville, then Saint-Oradoux-près-Crocq.Once you leave the village, take the path on the right. At the crow's foot, turn right again and follow the path to the left.At the end of this path, cross the road to reach the path on the opposite side.In the village of Chermartin, turn right. After the low wall garden, turn left immediately.When you get to the road, take the road opposite. Go through the village. At the end of the latter turn left and follow the low-walled path.On the left: a view over the towers of Crocq.At the intersection, turn left. You can make a detour to the Pont des Farges and the wooden footbridge, by taking a right. Then return to the intersection and continue ahead. A few hundred metres further on, it is possible to make a detour to a small wooden bridge that was once used as a lock or water reservoir.Following the Tardes River, there is an old private mill called Le Foulon which was used to soften hemp fabrics.Go up to the D9 and follow it to the right.At the crossroads, continue straight ahead on the road to Auzances (D996).150 m further on, in front of the Basville pond, take the path on the right.At the first intersection, take the right-hand path. When you arrive on the road, turn left and go up to the village of Saint Oradoux.

About 400 m further, cross the road D941 and follow the low, walled path opposite. At the intersection, at the top of it, go straight ahead. Pass below the shed and follow the tarmac road.After the bread oven on the left, take the low path on the right and go straight on.At the intersection, turn left towards the bridge. Stay on the uphill path.After the climb, turn left at the junction. Follow the path to the road.At the road, turn left.After the lake, take the path on the left. At the crossroads, go straight on until you reach the D 28. Turn left, then take the D 941 to the right and take the steps leading to the Town Hall. After the Town Hall, turn left towards the church, take the path on the right going up and then the steps to reach the starting point.

In the Pays des Bonshommes, the 'land of the good men', follow the trails to discover the heritage of La Mazière aux Bons Hommes.At La Fontaine Saint-Jean, on the D10, at the entrance of the village, coming from Crocq, take the small road in the village that goes up to the church, then go along beside the cemetery. After a few metres, turn right and continue into the woods.Continue alongside the Grande Naute lake and go on up to the road. Leave the village of Cherbaudy on the right. Cross the D 941, and head towards Sibiou.After about 300 m, turn left, through the Bois du Calvaire, to the chapel of Saint-Mamert. Continue along the wooded path to the D 941.Cross the D 941 to take the marked path in front of you. At the first crossroads, turn right and follow the path for 400 m. before going downhill between two low walls towards the Etang du Châtelard. Go over the causeway and continue straight up.At the road, turn left at an acute angle and follow the road to La Villeneuve - Pindogne. Continue for 500 m. until you reach the small road on the left and go down through the fir plantation.Continue on to a T-junction; Turn right, leave the Chemin du Châtelard opposite, and turn left towards La Mazière.Go through the church square, walk along beside the parish buildings and you will be on the trail that leads to the Saint-Jean Fountain.

Situated in the Urbe woods, 3 km from Crocq, the Dolmen is sufficient pretext for a hike on its own.

The lantern of the dead that stands next to the triangular pediment bell-tower-wall is no longer a signal to guide the traveller through the night. But it overlooks the chapel which houses the 16th-century triptych in polychrome wood, two 18th century carved wooden panels and 14th-century stalls.
