Your route will start at the Château Saint-Louis, an architectural gem dating from the 18th century, and take you along hidden paths and picturesque roads. The route is accessible to all levels of ability, and you can stop along the way to rest and take photos of the scenery around you.

Ideal for hot summer days, gain some height and enjoy the walk around the Falle valley. Its freshness and calm will convince you.

This great walk will take you through the Belfays woods, passing through St-Stail, Vermont and the Grandrupt Communal forest. Enough to enjoy the calm of the mountains off the beaten track.

Champenay is well known for its quartzite sandstone quarry. This a red sandstone with white veins, known as "Princes sandstone", in reference to the region's former status as the Principality of Salm. At the trail's summit (the crest between the Col du Hantz and the Chemin des Allemands) are the old border posts between France and Germany dating from 1870-1918. Lastly, the trail goes through the refreshing Falle valley and past the lake of the same name.

At the crossroad of Champenay, take to the right the road de la Falle. After the forester's lodge continue in direction of the pond de la Falle, then go up to the St-Étienne pond.

Starting from Champenay, this route offers you the opportunity to escape into the forest for a fun walk with the family.

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

The Mère-Henry rock (666m) is a sandstone promontory which offers a splendid view of Senones and the Vosges mountains. Discover the nearby Haute-Pierre (575m) and the Lanceux rock (640m). Information is available at the tourist office.

In 1751, Prince Nicolas Leopold obtained independence from Louis XV and King Stanislas for the lands of Salm and chose Senones to be the capital of the Principality of Salm Salm. Discover the ruins of the Salm Castle and the ancient princely houses.

The military cemetery “La Poterosse” in Senones was created in 1920. It groups the remains of 795 French, 7 Polish, 11 Romanians and 6 Russian soldiers all Wold war I victims. Next to it, the German cemetery hosts 784 graves and the remains of 744 soldiers in an ossuary.

This natural lake is located at an altitude of 678 metres. Discover a vault, a chapel from the 19th century and a sarcophagus. It is 15 metres deep and about 800 metres in circumference. Accessible for car and bus. No swimming.

It was on the hill of la Fontenelle, a kindergarden before the war, that the front was established on 12. September 1914. The French occupied the summit, at contour line 627. The Germans dug in firmly on the Eastern flank, constructing powerful trenches from which attacks were the regularly launched. On 23 June 1915, with the help of the explosions of underground mines and the reinforcement of well-equipped heavy artillery, the Germans inflicted a severe defeat on the French by reaching the summit. However, on 8 and 23 July of the same year, two violent counterattacks saw the French troops regain a foothold on the hill. 1500 prisoners were taken. After 25 July, mine warfare subdued while raids replaced frontal attacks in the trenches. Despite the determination of the Germans, the heights of la Fontenelle remained in French hands. In 1925, a monument was inaugurated near the cemetery that hosts the remains of 2348 French soldiers. The German soldiers were brought together at the cemetery of Senones.

This building which is situated in the forest between Moyenmoutier and Senones, is the vestige of a 7th century priory which was found by a disciple of Saint-Hydulphe. The chapel was renovated and expanded in1921 by Abbot Varenne.

A landscaped botanic garden covering 3.8 hectares including a stream and a small mountain tarn, with several different landscaped areas reached by grassy or stony paths. Collections of rhododendrons, azaleas, perennials, shrubs, heathers and wetland plants. “Les Jardins de Callunes” won a first prize in the Lorraine parks and gardens competition in 1996.
