A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motorised vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. They are ideal for families or couples to feel at home. We have two accommodation units available for hire. Our large and spacious mobile home is available for a minimum of 3 nights. Our smaller mobile home is available by the night and is ideal for couples, families with young children and walkers/cyclists. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON SITE. The site is open from April to September.

Le Coudray is in an old farmhouse 300 m from the village of La Pallu, near the forest, 9 km from Pré-en-Pail, 30 km from Alençon, 12 km from La Ferté-Macé, 9 km from Couterne and 14 km from Bagnoles de l'Orne, a spa town. Thérèse, who loves the countryside, welcomes you to her haven of peace. You will be staying in a bedroom on the first floor of the house. Private bathroom with shower, WC, vanity unit and hairdryer. Indoor or outdoor breakfast, table and chairs in front of the house or at the back in a wooded park. There are a number of restaurants, the nearest of which is 4 km away (Couptrain). Thérèse, who knows the area inside out, will be delighted to give you information and advice on your visits and, if you wish, to accompany you on short walks in the surrounding area. La chambre d'hôtes du Coudray is 4.3 km from the Véloscénie, on the Alençon / Bagnoles-de-l'Orne via Carrouges stage, exit before St-Patrice du Désert (lieu-dit "le Plessis") then take the D241.

Between Bagnoles de l'Orne, a renowned spa town, and Lassay-les-Châteaux, a small town full of character, the Champs étoilés gîte is exceptional for the warm atmosphere it creates thanks to a subtle combination of wood and stone, and new and renovated furniture. The bedding is comfortable and there are two bathrooms, one with a whirlpool bath. The stay includes beds made, bathroom and kitchen linen, heating and cleaning. From JUNE 2025: a wellness area will be available with, on level 0, a heated, semi-underground swimming pool measuring 4m x 3m, a sauna and a spa, shower and wc. A fitness area will be located on the mezzanine floor. In the valleys of hautes Mayenne the landscape is undulating, offering beautiful views. Local shops in Couterne, 3km (bakery, butcher, mini-market). Bagnoles de l'Orne (9km): spa, swimming pool, tree-lined course, restaurants, all shops and services. La Ferté-Macé (14km): leisure centre with water sports and swimming in season. Lassay-les-Châteaux (9km): visits to the château, numerous events and exhibitions, painters in the street, art galleries, market and shops. Swimming pool in summer. Numerous signposted walks. From the gîte, 500 metres, Sentier du sculpteur, a short walk of 6.7km. Professional stays: 3 people maximum. 1 or 2-night weekend breaks: arrival 5pm - departure 5pm. For stays of 3 nights or more: arrival at 5pm - departure at 10am.

Les Bruyères offers a comfortable setting with spacious rooms and a sheltered courtyard with barbecue and garden furniture. On the ground floor, you enter through the living room (28m²) with its wood-burning stove, a large TV with DTT and two sofas. The 25m² kitchen has a large fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave, 2 induction hobs and 2 gas hobs. The shower room has a walk-in shower, washbasin, storage space and hairdryer. Separate WC. Upstairs, 3 bedrooms. The 1st (34m²) has a 180*200 king-size bed, bath and WC, privacy screen and plenty of storage space. A 2nd green bedroom (18m²) with a 140*190 bed, chest of drawers and sofa bed. The last bedroom (8m²) with its four-poster bed has a 140*190 bed. In Neuilly-le-Vendin, you'll find a café-bar-restaurant with a bread counter and a hairdresser. More shops in Pré-en-Pail (12km) and La Ferté-Macé (15km). You are 13km from the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne and in the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park. You'll love the hiking trails and the nearby Véloscénie cycle route linking Paris to Mont Saint Michel. If you fancy a spot of fishing, there are plenty of opportunities in the village, with lakes and trout in the river.

A long rectangular three aisle construction, the church (of St. Saviour) presents an imposing ogival facade. Two lancet windows surmounted with a multifoil rose stand above the main doorway. Inside, the capitals, adorned with curious sculptures date from the Roman period. The main part of the choir dates from the 19th century. There is a tomb under the seigniorial chapel on the Gospel side.

This collection entitled "And if we talked about ..." includes 5 visits that will be downloadable on smartphone and can be done independently. A map is attached and allows you to find your way around each of the circuits with numbered stickers indicating the different stops. Of the castle that once belonged to the Harcourt family, hitherto known as the Versailles of Normandy, all that remains today are the park and the scorched facade of the former entrance vestibule, the chapel and the outbuildings. It was once one of the finest buildings in Normandy. The castle, which once boasted a total of 264 windows, was comprised of a vast gallery overlooking the River Orne below, and of ten aligned lounges which led to the chapel. On the 12th of August 1944, as the British 59th Infantry Division reached the outskirts of Thury-Harcourt, the infamous SS Das Reich division that occupied the town set fire to the castle, reducing its precious furnishings to cinders, along with over 150 old paintings and a library with over 15,000 books.

The British monument in honour of those from the Division who fell in combat during the Normandy campaign and the liberation of Thury-Harcourt on the 13th of August 1944 was inaugurated in 1953, on the last weekend of June, in order to concurrently commemorate the civilians lost during the terrible bombardments on the 30th of June. Located at the crossroads between the road to Caen and the Avenue Général Lynne. This heritage site welcomes groups, individuals and school parties all year round by appointment. No website.

The church of Saint Benin was part of the former Diocese of Bayeux. It became a chapel when the town of the same name was attached to Thury-Harcourt in 1858. The medieval nave was destroyed by fire in the first half of the 19th century. The tower presents a two-slope roof and is located between the choir and the nave. It is supported by four Norman pillars, the capitals of which are adorned with godroons, whereas the other church pillars are decorated with interlacing and beading. The choir is ribbed and houses a 16th century square credence. The statue of St. Benin dates from the 15th or 16th century.

The church is dependent on the former Diocese of Bayeux. On either side of the choir, inside a high wall, a stone frame once contained a marble table, since destroyed. The frame placed beside the epistle is surmounted with an escutcheon, most likely representing the Patry family’s five leaves, and surmounted with a frontal helmet. The 13th century porch tower is topped with an imperial dome.

In April 2019, we created an association (Loi 1901, non-profit) to run an organic and local produce grocery café in Suisse-Normande. We want to develop our organic grocery café around 3 major axes: ? Cooperative: every consumer in the broadest sense can be a consom?actor (including producers) ? Participative: each cooperator (consumer or producer) can get involved and commit to the project ? Solidarity-based: each producer is remunerated at fair value, and prices are fairer for consumers, thanks to the absence of intermediaries. Animals accepted.

For meals with family, friends or work colleagues, the Pomme d'Happy can accommodate up to 27 people in the dining room or more on the terrace if the weather permits. According to the days and opening hours of the restaurant, it is possible to eat from 10 am to 6 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm (arrival time).
