Start / Finish: Guinguette de La Naute, Champagnat Signs : Chemins Douce Heure 1 - Walk alongside the buildings and continue below the tennis court. Go right down between the 2 ponds to join the path leading to the tail of the pond. 2 - Continue along the path alongside the pond. 3 - Take the road on the left, then the 1st track on the right 4 - Go through Malleteix, then over the pond dike. 5 - Take the small road on the right towards the Etang de La Naute.

This walk follows the paths once travelled by Jean Guitton during his holidays in Creuse, at the Château de Fournoux.Go up the walled road for 20 m. and take the small sunken path on the left. Continue straight on for about 2 km until you reach the D19.Take the road on the left and then immediately turn right towards La Roche. Go through La Roche, keeping left, and follow the green signs to the hamlet of Montfrand.Go down the road on the left (the route follows the GR 46 marked in red and white).Before the village of Théolet, take a right turn after a small tarmac road for about 700 m to reach the D28.Cross the bridge on the left. Leave the major road and continue on the departmental road for about 500 m.Turn onto a sunken path below you to the left. Cross a stream and go straight on up. You'll reach a small asphalt road: go across it. Continue to follow the path until you reach the road.Fork left towards Le Deveix, go through the hamlet and go down to the valley of the Tardes (the viewpoint overlooking the Château de Fournoux).At the D19, turn left and cross the bridge. Continue for 300 m and turn right to reach the hamlet of La Châtre.

This 12 km route from Mainsat is an easy way to discover the FFC Cyclosport area in East Creuse. From Les Portes, head towards Mainsat, then turn right towards Bussière-Nouvelle through the Bois de la Forêt. Then head for Villevaleix and continue right on the D988 for 900m. Turn right again towards Blavepeyre and then Chagot. One last climb and you're back at the château.

This 16 km route from Mainsat is an easy way to discover the FFC Cyclosport area in East Creuse. From Les Portes, go as far as the village of Mainsat, then turn left onto the D19. Further on, branch off onto the D38. Before you reach "Le Bouchereau", turn left towards Bardet, then back to the château via Chagot

This 23 km route from Mainsat is an easy way to discover the FFC Cyclosport area in East Creuse. From Les Portes, head towards Mainsat, then turn right towards Bussière-Nouvelle through the Bois de la Forêt. Continue on the D27 to Le Theil, then take the D25. Once you have passed the village of Sermur, turn right towards Coudeleix to join the D988 on the right. After 1.5 km, turn left and enter Château des Portes via Chagot.

This 37 km route from Mainsat is an easy way to discover the FFC Cyclosport area in East Creuse. From Les Portes, head towards Mainsat. Follow the D4 and you'll find Saint-Priest on your right. Then head for Sannat. At the end of the village, take a small road on the right to leave the D24. Continue as far as Arfeuille-Châtain. Cross the D4 to Bussière-Nouvelle. Continue towards Villevaleix and turn right onto the D988, then first right to return to Château des Portes via Chagot.

The 'Augustin et Julienne' house is located in one of the former farmhouses of the Château du Tirondet estate. On the first floor, there's a spacious living room with dining area and an adjacent fully-equipped open kitchen. An old passageway gives access to the former milk cellar, where the shower room and toilet are now located. On the second floor, there are three spacious bedrooms, all equipped with good new beds with extra thick mattresses, a wardrobe and a safe. The rooms have a small desk or comfortable sitting area, and one room has an extra armchair that can be folded into an extra bed. This gîte has a private courtyard with a terrace, comfortable furniture and a good barbecue. There is no television in this house.

The gîte is located in one of the former stables of the Château du Tironet estate. The house is luxuriously furnished with natural materials and features concrete floors on the first floor and wooden floors upstairs. First floor: living room with dining area, adjoining open kitchen with all amenities. Second floor: three spacious bedrooms all equipped with good new beds with extra thick mattresses, wardrobe and safe. One of the bedrooms also has an extra armchair that can be folded out to become an extra bed. One of the bedrooms has separate single beds, which can be converted into twin beds on request. The gîte has a private terrace, comfortable furniture and a good barbecue. An old passageway gives access to the former tack room, which can be added to make an extra bedroom.

The "Paulette" apartment is located behind the chapel and was once the official residence of the estate's caretaker/cook. The apartment, located on the second floor, has been completely renovated while preserving the old details. The apartment comprises a bathroom, separate toilet, kitchenette with dining area, bedroom and separate living room. If required, the luxurious sofa bed in this living room can be folded out to create a second bedroom. The apartment has a shared terrace adjacent to the château entrance, with comfortable furniture.

La Sellerie is located next to the former stables. The former tack room has been converted into a small studio with kitchenette. On the second floor is the sleeping area with a large double bed. From the sleeping area, a mezzanine gives a feeling of space and a view of the small living room on the first floor. The tack room can be reached by a few steps and a double door from the gîte d'accompagnement l'Ecurie, making this combination ideal for people traveling together but still seeking privacy. This studio has a terrace shared with the neighboring "Paulette" apartment, adjacent to the château entrance with comfortable furniture.

When you rent a Lodge Safari Tent from us, you get a truly different camping experience? Safari "Tennessee" 2 persons, "it's the freedom of camping with a certain approach to comfort and luxury! On a wooden floor, with all-wood furniture, you have a canvas tent under which are divided : - a bedroom with a 140cm double bed (pillows, comforter and blanket) - a kitchen area with fridge, gas hob, coffee maker, kettle and all cooking utensils and crockery for 2 to 6 people (depending on the tent chosen). - indoor living/dining area A large terrace area with a dining table, benches and deckchairs, where you can take full advantage of nature and the view of the Creuse Valley. The sanitary facilities (campsite sanitary facilities) are close to the tent.

Our Retro Bungalow Tent "North Carolina" invites you to disconnect from reality, in a vintage spirit, for a fun-filled vacation! Camping, yes, but with all the comforts! With over 25m² of floor space, they offer : - 3 separate bedrooms with "real" beds and comfortable mattresses (comforters and pillows) - a spacious, fully-furnished living area with dining area and kitchenette (fridge, gas stove, coffee maker, kettle, cooking utensils and crockery for 4). Water jerry cans are available for filling up at a water point close to the tents. And on the practical side, the campsite's sanitary facilities are close by! The church is home to 2 statues of particular interest: >A 15th-century Virgin and Child seated on a simple bench. She is dressed in a white gown with gold braid and belt, a blue veil forming a mantle and red shoes. Her head is encircled by a crown of golden flowers. Her left hand holds the Child standing on her thigh. >Saint-Domet (late 17th-18th century) is shown standing, bearded, wearing a blue justaucorps with military-style braids, pockets and buttons, red breeches, white stockings and a bonnet. This folk art statue can be identified by the carved inscription on the front. St-Domet is thought to be an altered form of St-Domine or St-Dominin. The church also features a horseshoe-shaped reliquary, designed to house the saint?s jawbone (not on public display).

The portal and a vault (?) from the church of the former parish of Tromp, dedicated to Saint Martin-de-Brive, have been reinstalled in the south wall of the parish church of Saint-Priest. The church burned down in 1818. CMH in 2016

This church must have been the chapel of the feudal castle before it became a parish church, replacing another that had been destroyed. The building features a nave with a straight chevet, the last bay of which forms the choir. An ogival vaulting was added in the 14th century, resting on bases sculpted with human heads. The west-facing square-plan bell tower features a chamfered semi-circular bay on each side. The perpendicular walls framing the portal are each decorated with a blind molded arcade that falls on bases sculpted with human faces. In the 16th century, a rib-vaulted aisle was added to the south, the same length as the nave.

Inside St-Martial church, a 17th-century Vierge de Pitié (Virgin of Pity) draws attention for its originality. The group is enhanced by a violet-painted base. The Virgin sits on a simple, undecorated bench. She is dressed in a gilded gown with lace-embroidered collar and a mantle, which doubles as a veil and is pleated at the knees. The Virgin wears a headdress with a scalloped veil adorned with lace. This is a rare example of the Mother of Christ wearing a popular garment, as the headdress is from Auvergne. Her half-open mouth testifies to her pain and affliction. The workmanship of Christ is more clumsy: he lies on his Mother?s lap, his head turned to the left. His chestnut hair is crowned with a green twist, planted with thorns and rendered with iron nails. His left arm is stretched along his body.

The Mainsat orangery was attached to the château, whose entrance porch and adjoining wing date from the 16th and 17th centuries. The park and orangery were rebuilt towards the end of the 19th century. The park and the following elements: flowerbeds, sphynge, gargoyle, four cast-iron statues, rockery, factory, bench, stairs, fishpond, furniture (benches, tubs, small fountain, stone table), pediment with coat of arms, promenoir and orangery were listed for the second time by decree of March 18, 1991 (then modified by decree of September 29, 1997).

Imagine a mobile restaurant offering weekly menus devised by Luc and Lucie. On the menu: local produce, plants, edible flowers, spices and other colorful ingredients. It's hard to pigeonhole the rue sauvage, since you can enjoy their dishes to take away, either from their turquoise-colored food truck or from their fixed point of sale in Auzances. Menus change with the seasons, depending on supplies from local suppliers, most of them organic.
