This walking tour allows you to discover life in the Upper Florival during the Second World War and how the resistance was able to organize itself in the face of Nazi state measures. This visit is proposed by the Association "Amitié Florival-Magnoac" since 2010. A visit booklet has been produced thanks to the partnership between the association and the "Pays d'art et d'histoire" service of the "Communauté de Communes". You can therefore carry out the visit-hike in complete autonomy!

This family hike accessible to the greatest number does not present any particular difficulties. It will allow you to discover the small religious heritage of the village of Linthal and enjoy a beautiful view of the Florival Valley and the Vosges ridges. This short family hike benefits from specific “red circle” markings - a circuit of the chapels that you just need to follow from the beginning to the end of the route.

This relatively long and difficult itinerary is for hikers who already have some experience. It crosses exceptional landscapes and affords magnificent views. This route through the forests and stubble will take you on a discovery the richness of the local flora. This itinerant hike allows you to discover, in the space of two days, some of the most interesting routes in the Guebwiller region and the Markstein and Grand Ballon mountains. This hike is long and relatively difficult (over 41 km and almost 1500m of cumulative elevation gain). It is therefore intended for regular walkers and in good physical condition. Throughout the route you will discover different farm inns, Lac du Ballon, Grand Ballon, Markstein station, Petit Ballon and the ridges, the village of Linthal.

This relatively long hike does not present any particular difficulties. You will pass through the districts of Lautenbach-Zell and Buhl, and alternate between forests and prairies. This horse ride from Lautenbach-Zell does not have any particular problems. It allows to enjoy beautiful views of the valley and Murbach through pleasant forests. Shelter and fountain are located at a place called the Wolfsgrube (Fosse aux Loups). Duration: 2h Length: 11 km Accumulated altitude: 346 m

This hike will bring you to Grand Ballon, the highest peak of the Vosges mountains, rising up to 1,424 metres. From this pass, if the weather is clear, you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the Alsace plain, the Black Forest and even the Alps. Along the way, you will pass through a variety of landscapes, from forests of conifers and broadleaved trees to clearings and pastures. As you gain altitude, you will observe the changes in the Vosges flora. This hike begins at the mountain pass of the Brown Monument and has a difference in altitude of 480 m and a length of 12 km. In the first part of the hike you will discover the ruins of Husenbourg Castle. On the way there you can admire the incredible Seebach waterfalls and the pond of the Belchen "Lac du Ballon". A natural lake of glacial origin.

This 8 km hike with a difference in altitude of 400m, starting from the Boenlesgrab pass, will allow you to discover the ruins of the Ruhenfels. As you continue your itinerary, you will discover the magnificent panorama view that is offered to you at the top of the Petit Ballon.

Departing from Lausanne, head to the medieval town of Gruyères, home to the famous Swiss cheese!  Leave Lausanne by bus and climb up into the alpine pastures to reach Gruyères.  After a tour around the town, your guide will take you to a Swiss chocolate factory to show you how famous Swiss chocolate is made.  Then head to an old alpine cheese factory. Enjoy a Swiss cheese tasting and learn more about the national dish: fondue.  Learn to make your own Swiss fondue and try the traditional dish.  After your meal, relax and climb on board the Golden Express, a panoramic train which crosses the alpine pastures and the heights of Lake Geneva. This pretty fountain, carved from tree trunks, owes its name to Auguste Kauffmann, former mayor of Hartmanswiller, who installed it. Take the path on the left: you are on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.

At the roundabout at the entrance of the village of Hartmanswiller coming from Cernay by the RD 5 or from Bollwiller by the RD44 in front of the Meyer hotel, take the route de la forêt. You can park your car 500 m further on the edge of the forest. The route takes the road to the canteen, so called because it leads to the ZELLER canteen, which was the former German command post of the 14-18 war on the Hart-mannswillerkopf front. The place is named Zeller in reference to Madame Zeller who lived there after the Second World War.

On both sides of the path you will find World War I bunkers. These are German bunkers dating from 1916-1918 and restored by the Friends of the Hartmannswillerkopf and the Baden South West reservists.

This oratory, as well as the following one, were probably built at the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century.

The itinerary goes through a very beautiful setting between vineyards and orchards. The views follow one another towards Hartmanswiller, the Vosges mountains, Bollwiller, the headframes of the Rodolphe Mine etc. Follow the red-white-red rectangle sign back to the starting point through fields and orchards and onto the Route de la Forêt.

After a gentle descent at the end of the forest, you enter the Berrwiller vineyard. In good weather, you can see Mulhouse and sometimes even the Swiss Alps.

There is a bench next to this oratory where you can take a pleasant break. Take the path on the left towards Berrwiller.

Before crossing the departmental road 5, the panorama allows you to discover the bell tower of Berrwiller and the plain of Alsace.

Source of the Moselotte near the Thatch of Breitzhousen. Christina of Denmark, widow of the Duke of Lorraine Francis II and regent of Lorraine, drank it in July 1560. The stele visible at that location also marks the starting point of the water cycle circuit and hydropower. Document on this circuit available on request to the Bresse Tourist Office. At the edge of the route des crêtes, which can be closed for several days in winter depending on climatic conditions.
