Discover the patrimonial and historical richness of a commune greatly appreciated by the painter Félicien Rops. Starting from the square of Mettet, walk along the country roads and you will see the Castle of Thozée where the famous painter used to come regularly to admire the nature.You will also come across many old and typical farms of the region such as those of Foy and Montigny, of Scry and of Saint-Jean in MettetThe route, rather hilly, offers you some very nice viewpoints on the villages of Pontaury, Scry and Mettet. After your walk, you can get your strength back at the Douceurs d'Alexandre, an artisanal chocolate shop with a small tasting room. You'll lick your lips when you see the selection of chocolates!

On this route you will have the opportunity to admire the old monastery of Ermeton-sur-Biert up close. Afterwards, you can also enter the church of Furnaux to have a closer look at the baptismal font. Made of limestone, it dates from the 12th century. The walk alternates between woods and countryside and you can confront time with the big lime tree. It dates from the 14th century and its circumference is more than 8m. There is a variant which extends the circuit a little and passes by a very beautiful point of view on the bell towers of the abbeys of Maredret and Maredsous. You can find it on the website of the commune of Mettet.

Hilly landscape with nice valleys (Nefzée stream, Oret stream, Biesme). You will be able to admire the Romanesque church of Biesme (XIth century) classified among the historical monuments, the chapel Saint-Roch (1636), the chapel of Planois, the castle of Biesme, the site of the Botte Mill. Farms, houses, pots and old chapels of great interest. Remains of old mills.Route without particular difficulty.

On your walk, you will see chapels, potteries and some typical farms. You can also admire a double beech tree, whose trunk exceeds five metres in circumference.  You will pass by the Bambois Lake, which you can visit after your walk if you wish.  It is an easy walk with views of the villages of Bambois and Maison Saint-Gérard. The route is half country, half woodland. 

From the starting point, you will be plunged into the heart of the matter! You will have Brogne Abbey on your right and St Peter's Church on your left. You will then set off along the country lanes to meet numerous chapels and potals, reminiscent of the pilgrimages of another time. This hilly route will offer you beautiful views of the village of Saint-Gérard and the typically Condruzian landscapes with tiges (bulges) and chavées (valleys). After your visit, you can stock up on local products at the "Paysans Artisans" shop on the square.

At the gateway to the Molignée valley, Denée is a charming little village that makes a great starting point for this walk.  You will see the castle-farm and the chapel, but you will also come across the castle of Denée and the old quarries.   A pleasant walk through fields and woods.  If you wish to stay, beautiful accommodations such as La Classe and L'effet vert sens welcome you with pleasure. 

This walk takes you close to the two monasteries of the Molignée Valley: the Abbey of Maredsous and the Abbey of Maredret, whose three bell towers you can see. On your way, you will wander between woods and countryside. After your walk, don't hesitate to stop by the "Vachement ferme" shop, located between the two abbeys, to stock up on regional products.

Starting from the church of Fromiée, this circuit of nearly 10 km takes almost exclusively forest or country roads. Leaving Fromié quickly, he plunges into the Bois du Tournibus, makes an incursion into the territory of Hanzinne, and reaches the first Hymiee houses, whose place, the largest in the whole, is worth the detour. Return to Fromiée via the Bois de Frescheux and rue des Champs by taking the “intervillages link” path.

From Maredret, a beautiful little stone village, set out to conquer the country roads.  You will pass by a fishpond but also and above all not far from the Abbey of Maredret. You can make a small diversions to discover its church and why not extend your walk to the Abbey of Maredsous to relax over a good beer.  Stroll along the small paths and tracks back to the village to reach your starting point. 

Discover the Abbeys of Maredret and Maredsous. Along the RAVeL, you may come across the Molignée draisines. No fear, they are peaceful!  You can take a break at the abbey of Maredsous and enjoy the traditional beers and cheese sandwiches. You can even try a delicious croque-monsieur with Maredsous cheese au gratin.  Just 900m away, you will pass by the Maredret Abbey, so don't hesitate to push the doors open.  You will then descend to your starting point in the beautiful little stone village of Maredret. 

"La Pommeraie" is a very comfortable and charming 4 épis gite, located in a local stone house renovated in 2019. Maredsous Abbey has shone forth at the heart of the Molignée valley for 140 years. Its plan, inherited from that of the abbeys of Aulne and Villers-la-Ville, is impressive, giving an idea of what the abbeys were during the time of their splendour. Set in the midst of the luxuriant pastures of the Namur plateau, its position provided inspiration for the monks, who have been refining Maredsous cheese for over half a century.

Monastic fervour in the late 19th century gave rise to new abbeys in Europe. Maredret, which lies not far from Maredsous, displays the characteristic neo-Gothic style, impressive and austere. It was home to Benedictine cloistered nuns.
