A family home typical of the 1930's, imbued with warmth an authenticity. The Fétinne district in Liège is very near to the RAVEL cycling network and the Way of Saint James, several minutes from two motorway exits and bus routes leading to the city centre (4,26,31) and the hospital (48). You will therefore be "a short hop" from the city centre whilst able to enjoy the comfort of a calm and green district that boasts a wide range of facilities (small supermarket, bakers, butcher, chip shops, bookshop, park, play area, etc.). The Parc de la Boverie is 500 metres away via the Passerelle Mativa bridge. We are also just several minutes from Médiacité, Belle-Ile or the Convention Centre.

Située en léger contrebas de la basilique de Chèvremont, la chapelle Notre-Dame a été construite en 1688 par des Jésuites anglais. Il s’agit d’une petite construction de plan carré, en moellons et briques. La chapelle est éclairée de petites baies à linteau droit et aux piédroits harpés. Le toit est pourvu de coyaux et est composé d’éternit. Une première construction est tout d’abord sortie de terre en 1688 mais est devenue bien vite trop petite. Elle a donc été adjointe d’une seconde partie en 1697. Le lieu est devenu au fil du temps un endroit de dévotion à la Vierge ainsi qu’un pèlerinage pour les sportifs, ce qui explique la présence de trophées multiples : coupes, maillots de cyclistes, ballons, etc. De la chapelle s’étale, en direction de Vaux, sept étapes du calvaire symbolisées par de petits oratoires en pierre représentant les sept douleurs de la Vierge. Classement (9 octobre 1985)

Also called Hennebique Bridge because of its designer’s name, the Mativa Bridge also dates back to the 1905 World’s Fair. Built of reinforced concrete, it was the first of its type in Belgium. It also crosses La Dérivation in a single span. In contrast to the lightness of the bridge’s arc, two strong pillars support it on either side of the water. Interestingly, the arc of the bridge is only 35 centimetres thick at its peak.

Born at the confluence of the rivers Ourthe and Meuse, Liège still had several small islands 150 years ago. Starting in 1853, large-scale projects were undertaken to channel the waters that crossed the city. That is how the canal called ‘La Dérivation’ was born; it joins the Meuse at the Atlas-V Bridge and forms the eastern end of the island of Outre-Meuse. The banks of La Dérivation were urbanised in the 19th century, and in the 20th its quays were covered with buildings.
