The area’s outbuildings house two exhibitions which show works coming from the castle’s collection. "Le Cabinet de curiosités de Jehay" ("Jehay’s Cabinet of Curiosities") and "Trésors venus d’Irlande" ("Treasures from Ireland"), allow visitors to discover two specific aspects of this vast and remarkable collection of works of art.The castle, surrounded by moats, is located in an idyllic setting. The Italianate parks and gardens are truly verdant settings in which, particularly, remarkable trees and trained lime trees edging pathways jostle for position.The old vegetable garden, dating back to the 19th century, has recently been restored. At the edge of the wood, surrounded by a brick wall and spreading out over a one-hectare area, the setting invites daydreaming. Visitors will be able to discover varieties of old vegetables, edible flowers, fruit trees or delicate roses …

The two world wars were the two major events experienced by this fort. The atmosphere of 1940 is reproduced by a 3D reconstitution and that of 1914 is recreated through a torch-lit discovery of the fort. The view of the shell craters from the summit of the fort will help you imagine the tension that reigned several metres lower down! Finally, in the museum, discover the everyday life of civilians, soldiers and even American women pilots, to whom an entire room is dedicated!

From agriculture, agricultural tools, religious art up to specific regional industries, in this museum you will be introduced to Haspengouw and its (military) history. A special area is dedicated to the company Mabuda (agricultural equipment) and there are temporary exhibitions as well as thematic exhibitions throughout the year.
