This 5km loop combines geological discovery (rock of Saint Sour) and discovery of the rural heritage (bread oven). Marked out with fountains, springs, cavities, oak forests or farms, this route will offer you magnificent panoramas of the Vézère and the Causse Terrassonnais.

When you arrive in Terrasson-Lavilledieu, you will be at the entrance of the Vézère valley, the valley of Man... You will discover in the staircase lanes, old houses, an abbey church from the 15th century, two bridges, one of which is from the 12th century, a magnificent hillside which once sheltered Saint Sour, the founding father of Terrasson, as well as the Jardins de l'Imaginaire (Gardens of the Imagination) retracing the history of the gardens of mankind through the ages. The Bouch loop passes on this hillside and allows you to walk away on the heights of the city and have a superb view on the valley before walking on the causse and going down on the Coly valley by the hamlet of Bouch You will walk through the woods and arrive in the village of La Chapelle Mouret whose chapel dates back to the 12th century. The return journey is via the lime kilns and the other side of the hill.

Sporty loop, which will make you discover the heights of Terrasson-Lavilledieu, gateway to the Vézère Valley, you can, at the bend in the streets, discover old houses, an abbey church of the 15th century, cluzeaux and still a lot of small heritage.

From Terrasson-Lavilledieu to Limeuil, where the Vézère joins the Dordogne, the river runs through one of the most beautiful regions of the Périgord. This first stage will take you from Terrasson to St Amand de Coly. You will discover the old town of Terrasson built around its abbey overlooking the Vézère as well as the gardens of the imagination which dominate the old town. Further on, the path climbs along a cliff where the chapel of St Sour appears, it is in these rocks that the hermit Sorus came to settle. After the mineral plateau of Terrasson, the path ventures into the woods and runs alongside the Coly, a freshwater stream that comes out of a resurgence (the source of La Doux) known for its longest siphon in France. This brook gave its name to the village we passed through before arriving at St Amand de Coly, a village classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Not forgetting Lascaux, the Sixtin Chapel of prehistory.

When you arrive in Terrasson-Lavilledieu, you will discover old houses, a 15th century abbey church, two bridges, one of which dates back to the 12th century, a magnificent hillside where Saint Sour, the founding father of Terrasson, once lived, as well as the Jardins de l'Imaginaire (Imaginary Gardens), which retrace the history of gardens throughout the world, and many other curiosities!

A fairly easy route, in the middle of nature with magnificent landscapes over the Puits d'Yssandon and the Vézère valley around Terrasson. On the way, through refreshing undergrowth, you can read and see informative signs about the history of the mines and the old secure mine shafts.

Very nice loop on the heights of Grèzes, you can admire by good weather the magnificent landscape that offers itself to you.

Your route will allow you to discover the castle of Coly, a wash house and a well. Pass near one of the most beautiful villages of France (a small detour in Saint Amand de Coly is necessary). Departure from the large parking lot next to the church of Coly.

Church of the 15th and 16th centuries Started under Bertrand de Rouffignac (1491-1505), the monastery church was completed by Bertrand de la Faye (1520-1540) in a flamboyant gothic style. The new buildings were burnt down during the Wars of Religion in 1569, leading to the decadence of the abbey, which was accentuated in the 17th and 18th centuries. The church was restored in the 19th century (end of work in 1889). Town planning works in 1950. Presence of lapidary vestiges from the Romanesque (capitals, modillions) and Gothic (lying down and bas-reliefs) periods. Every day from 9am (10am on Sundays) to 7pm. -

The Maison du Patrimoine is a cultural heritage centre dedicated to the town' s history, to cultural tourism and to the local heritage. A didactic approach for tourists and inhabitants of the Périgord Noir through original exhibits, models, photographs and exhibitions. Located in a former chapel of the convent of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Saviour, close to Saint Sour church. The ground floor is dedicated to the history of the town. Thirteen panels trace the history of the town from prehistoric times to the present day. On the first floor, temporary exhibitions explore creative activities based in the area. On the second floor, roof finials are among the curiosities on display.
