The first level comprises a large living room with open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen, dining and sitting area, and a double bedroom with shower room. In a small hamlet in the heart of the Monts du Limousin, charming stone cottage recently renovated. First floor: living room, sitting area and fitted kitchen. Upstairs, bedroom (bed 160), shower room with toilet. For hiking enthusiasts, enjoy a stay in the heart of nature, amid rolling, wooded landscapes rich in flora and fauna. Numerous signposted hiking, mountain biking and trail trails, as well as a nearby equestrian center.

In the heart of the Thaurion gorges, starting from the belvedere, a circuit allows you to visit the ancient hydraulic network. An explanatory booklet on the 46th parallel is available from the Châtelus le Marcheix Tourist Office.

Near the church, two remarkable yew trees frame a Gallo-Roman altar dedicated to Mercury, turned over to make a Christian altar. On the outskirts of the town, close to the site of the feudal castle, the church must have been the latter's chapel before becoming a parish temple in place of another that had been destroyed. Originally, it was a rectangular, single-span edifice that may date back to the 13th century. In the 15th century, it was vaulted with four crossbeams resting on polygonal capitals supported by finely sculpted face-shaped caps. The lightness of this covering is remarkable. The church was subsequently extended in the 16th century, probably in two stages, with a south aisle running almost its entire length. At the same time, the present bell tower was built, with its eaves (a molded protrusion used to keep water away from the wall)

Alain specializes in the production of perpetual vegetables. These are edible herbaceous perennials. They have fed us for generations. Today, many of the vegetables we grow are the result of numerous selections made from these perpetuals. Artichokes, rhubarb, strawberries and spring onions are the best known. Savory, agastache, hyssop, lovage and Kilimanjaro basil are aromatic or medicinal perennials that we appreciate for their scents and the well-being they bring us. For the gardener, perennials offer many advantages: low maintenance, frost resistance, few diseases, no treatments, easy to propagate. It's easy to see why permaculture has made them its panacea. The range of plants is vast, and Alain adds a few new ones every year.

Listed church with 16th-century paintings on the north and south walls and vault. The paintings on the walls represent the apostles, while the vault features God and angel musicians. Work carried out in 2005 uncovered further frescoes, including a painting of a leopard lion and a white dog, two escutcheons of the French family, a torture wheel of St. Catherine and several figures of saints.

La Lanterne in Saint Goussaud is a restaurant, grocery store and bar! The restaurant is open for lunch Monday to Sunday (except Wednesdays, which are reserved for workshops), and on Saturday evenings. Here you'll find a grocery store stocked with local produce and bulk goods, a bread depot (please order in advance), a batch of organic bread baked in a wood-fired oven, and a delivery service on Tuesdays and Fridays. Yann and Sylvie will introduce you to their local produce with simplicity, quality and finesse. The inn is open every Saturday and Sunday for lunch only, from 12:30 to 1pm, as well as on public holidays. Don't forget to reserve your table, either inside or on the terrace. In this tastefully restored former farmhouse, you'll find bistronomic cuisine based on seasonal and local produce. A lovely covered terrace at the rear of the building offers a magnificent view of the countryside on fine days. The chef offers a unique menu that changes daily and can be found on his Facebook page. From Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime, enjoy the weekend menu, with a choice of two starters, two main courses and two desserts.
