A wild immersion between crystal clear waters, limestone cliffs and vestiges of the past. Estimated duration: 5 hours Markings: GPS Departure: Village of Escragnolles Starting from the village of Escragnolles, this hike begins with a technical descent marked to ‘dive’ towards the source of the Siagne de la Pare, a veritable haven of freshness hidden at the bottom of the valley. The effort then intensifies with the climb up to the Briasq plateau, a vast, unspoilt area. The trail then runs along the foothills of Baou Mourine, offering a magnificent panorama of the Côte d'Azur and the Mediterranean in the distance. The return journey takes you through the hamlet of Rouyère, where the trail winds its way between the remains of old charcoal kilns, evidence of the pastoral and forestry activities of yesteryear. The loop ends gently at a place called La Colette before returning to the heart of the village.

Continue for 250 m. 3- Leave it to take a left at a barrier D.F.C.I. and continue for 1.5 km to the forked intersection Turn left and go to the point of view of Baou Mourine where is watchtower established. 4- Make the return by the same route.

Then deviate slightly on the right via the beacon 29. Go back down a pebble road and join the small village of Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne through small paved roads.

From the Parc de la Moulière climb up to the end of the chairlift by the green slope of the Marcassin. 1- Bypass a slope on the right and join the orientation table on the nearby ridge. 2- Cross the ridge on the trail (PR marking), to the top of the Audibergue (1,642m) 3- Go north, under the ski lifts to find the beacon 173. 4- Take the trail (PR marking) towards Parc de la Moulière and easily reach the parking lot via the 174 beacon.

Go along the fences and through a woodland until an intersection. 2- At the sign-post 302, take the right path that leads to the Canal du Loup. Walk on the mountainside on a large platform and cross the small bridge of the Gourdon valley. Remain on the flat area and come out on the Chemin du Paradis. 3- Follow it to the left (GR®51). Reach the Foulon aqueduct, then climb many aery switchbacks and reach Gourdon. 4- Visit the picturesque streets of the village, then go back down until the canal du Loup by the same route. In point 3, turn left and continue down the Chemin du Paradis. Come out on the road of the old railway. 5- Make a sharp right and return to Bar-sur-Loup. 1km further, take the Chemin des Fontaites to the right. And return to the car park of the cemetery.

This green lizard, of its latin name Lacerta bilineata boasts a blue coloration at the level of the throat. It occupies a wide range of habitats such as forest edges or wastelands. It is a species that likes the environments with a abundant vegetation. For the little anecdote, it is called here, the Lambert.

The well made the wealth of the town. The Amon well and one of the most preserved of this particular territory. Composed of a circular stone building paired, closed by a dome and isolated in the center of a meadow, it does not seem to have suffered the passage of time.

The waters of the Siagne, sometimes a joyously chaotic spectacle, sometimes spreading out into peaceful, translucent pools (launes), are forced to pass beneath the natural arch known as the Ponadieu. The deep, ever-present roar of the tumultuous waters of the Siagne can be heard from afar. The Pont de Ponadieu was created by limestone deposits (tufa) from a now-extinct spring. It is a light rock (used in buildings) that bears impressions of vegetation. Reaching reach this natural arch requires a walk lasting 45 minutes to an hour (feasible for all). The path goes downhill and leads to a pool beneath this magnificent natural arch that spans the river (1,709 feet/521 meters). The path leading to the Pont de Ponadieu partly runs along the Vallon de la Combe, a particularly agreeable site by virtue of the shade of large holm oaks. This hike forms a loop that takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. Be prepared: the walk back up will be the hardest for your calves!

From his latin name Empusa pennata, it has the frail look of the Phasme, the weapons of a Praying Mantis and a sci-fi monster's head. If luck is with you, you can meet him on the side of Escragnollles, but you will have to be patient because he can remain motionless for hours. A lookout cabin located at the end of the route dominates the Siagne valley and offers an unexpected view of these gorges with vertiginous reliefs to the coast. The territory of Escragnolles is framed by a dozen fortified enclosures. They have served over time, as refuges, lookouts and observations points.
