A beautiful walk without any particular difficulties, during which you will discover the ruins of the former Schwartzenthann monastery, cross the village of Wintzfelden and enjoy the meadows between Wintzfelden and Osenbach... Throughout the walk you will pass meadows where sheep and horses graze. An ideal walk in spring and autumn to enjoy the mid-season sun.

Short walk without any technical difficulty starting from the Sainte Odile church in Wintzfelden (municipality of Soutzmatt - Wintzfelden). The route, which notably crosses magnificent meadows, passes through the ruins of the former Schwartzenthann convent (first mentioned at the start of the 12th century). Take care at the end of the route, the route runs a few hundred meters along a departmental road to return to the starting point.

Small walking track, accessible to strollers able to roll out of bitumen. This track passes in a forest, near from a menhir and in a part of a Stations of the Cross.

This itinerant hike allows you to discover an incredible variety of landscape, meadows, vines, forests, stubble and viewpoints in two days of walking. You can climb up the "Petit Ballon" which has a high of 1272m. You will pass in particular by the vestiges of the convent of Schwartzenthann (XIIth century). Although it has a relatively large cumulative elevation gain, this hike does not present any major technical difficulties. Composed of two stages of 12 and 18 kilometers, it is accessible to occasional walkers. The moderate mileage of the stages leaves plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent landscapes.

This short hike does not present any particular difficulties. It starts on the hillside village of Wintzfelden and lead you down a path to RM5 where you can enjoy beautiful views of the noble valley and the plain of Alsace. The descent is via a relatively rocky path that also passes through a point of view. Benches and tables are available in several places of the route. Several detours are possible.

Walkers can expect a fine lesson in geology. The highly educational information panels are illustrated with extracts from the geological strata. You will also enjoy views of the landscape on this walk. Starting off in a pleasant stretch of undergrowth, the walk continues into a beautiful amphitheatre where wooded mountains surround fi elds and vineyards.

This lovely forest hike can be enjoyed by the whole family with a welcome break at the Dreibannstein shelter. Bannstein: the location of a boundary stone, marking the boundary of the banishment, here that of Schweighouse. Dreibannstein: beautiful mark that the political organization has left in toponymy: this is where the territories of Buhl, Guebwiller and Orschwihr meet. Close to Lautenbach, and before reaching the Boenlesgrab pass - the culminating poing of this hike - this route will take you to the heights of the charming village of Wintzfelden, next to Soultzmatt via the Firstplan pass (view of the Petit Ballon Massif). Lautenbach: This town seems to have its origins in a religious institution. It is likely that during the 8th century, the Irish Abbey Honau created a priory in the upper valley of the Lauch River. Very quickly, a secular community settled around the religious community. Until the early 19th century, the population lived modestly from farming and forestry. Iron mines operate in the small valley of St. Gangolphe, but this activity has never been of great importance. In 1789, the inhabitants of Lautenbach obtained, under the threat of an armed insurrection, the rights to use the forests and pastures. Industry came to the village with the cotton twisting industry created by the Anglo-Dutch De Jongh. Starting off from the Bannstein pass and passing close by St. Gangolphe, this hike provides you with exceptional views of Guebwiller and its valley, the Alsace plain, the Grand Ballon and the Swiss Alps. The forests of Bergholtz, Bergholtz-Zell and Orschwihr will bring you back to your starting point. St. Gangolphe: this hamlet grew up around the chapel dedicated to this saint, the patron of cuckolds. The itinerary goes through a very beautiful setting between vineyards and orchards. The views follow one another towards Hartmanswiller, the Vosges mountains, Bollwiller, the headframes of the Rodolphe Mine etc. Follow the red-white-red rectangle sign back to the starting point through fields and orchards and onto the Route de la Forêt.

At the roundabout at the entrance of the village of Hartmanswiller coming from Cernay by the RD 5 or from Bollwiller by the RD44 in front of the Meyer hotel, take the route de la forêt. You can park your car 500 m further on the edge of the forest. The route takes the road to the canteen, so called because it leads to the ZELLER canteen, which was the former German command post of the 14-18 war on the Hart-mannswillerkopf front. The place is named Zeller in reference to Madame Zeller who lived there after the Second World War.

This pretty fountain, carved from tree trunks, owes its name to Auguste Kauffmann, former mayor of Hartmanswiller, who installed it. Take the path on the left: you are on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.

After a gentle descent at the end of the forest, you enter the Berrwiller vineyard. In good weather, you can see Mulhouse and sometimes even the Swiss Alps.

Before crossing the departmental road 5, the panorama allows you to discover the bell tower of Berrwiller and the plain of Alsace.

On both sides of the path you will find World War I bunkers. These are German bunkers dating from 1916-1918 and restored by the Friends of the Hartmannswillerkopf and the Baden South West reservists.

This oratory, as well as the following one, were probably built at the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century.
