If you want to make an original stroll, go to the side of the teste de Buch, more precisely to the Dune of Pilat. Located at 20 km from Biscarrosse Plage it is the highest sand dune in Europe. Classified site since 1978, with a height of 115 m, 2700 m long and 500 m wide, this natural dune offers a breathtaking view on the basin of Arcachon and the Atlantic Ocean.

Take on your right and follow the road signs to reach the landmark 2, then turn immediately right until 3. At 3, turn left, cross the bike path and continue onto the perpendicular trail #4, turn right and proceed straight on the path until you reach the way of Cugnes passing by the reservoir 4. Option: when you pass by the landmark 4, leave the circuit, turn left and follow the direction of the Reservoir. Admire the point of view of the Ocean and lakes (Biscarrosse / Cazaux / Sanguinet). Make a 180° turn and return on the circuit. At #5, take a right and go down until #2. Cross the bike path. At D2, take the trail on your right, continue straight to reach #6, turn left following the signs and finally take first trail on your right and return to your point of departure. The numbers 1 through 6 are markers on the path map

In Biscarrosse Plage, the natural site of the fishpond is highlighted thanks to a path mounted on stilts. It invites the visitors to take note of the biodiversity and the Lette of the fishpond. An artificial pond has even been created to improve the living conditions of hundreds of species. A fun walk for the whole family.

This cycle track links Biscarrosse-plage to the North lake (Maguide). Forests, dunes, big lakes, vast white sand beaches, the impression of immensity dominates everywhere.very beautiful section but attention with the rise to join that goes up, that goes up! One can continue the cycle track while skirting the lake to join Sanguinet or Parentis.

When the wooden chapel, built in 1921, was no longer big enough (despite an expansion in 1927), a larger stone church was built. The project was spearheaded by a priest, Father Jean Baptiste Lapeyre. The first stone was laid in December 1957, and the church was inaugurated on 6 August 1961. In 1987, the church was renovated and a gallery was installed along with a mobile partition wall. The west entrance was remodelled, a square was paved on the south side, and an additional room was built. The remodelling was finished on 22 April 1988.

With its clear turquoise water, this lake is unparalleled on the Atlantic Coast. Bordering beaches, the lake's shallow water depth makes it resemble a Pacific lagoon, making it an ideal location that is safe for children… and adults, especially in the summer, when the water temperature is between 24 and 28°C.

At over 100 m, this lake is less than 1 m deep, which makes it perfect for young children. From 1930 to 1955, Biscarrosse was the place where Latécoère seaplanes were assembled and went on test flights. The Seaplane Museum, located at the mythical site of the former base, tells you this story and the history of worldwide seaplane activity. A unique collection of models, mechanical parts, documents etc display all the motions of that period. Equally remarkable, the exhibition hall is one of the highlights of the visit with its seaplanes from different eras. Open from 2 pm to 6 pm from 1st September to 30 June, except Tuesdays and bank holidays (ticket office closes at 5 pm). Open nonstop from 10 am to 7 pm in July and August (ticket office closes at 6 pm)

This 13th century castle features a two-storey main building, framed by two towers on the facade. The south tower (on the left from the gate) was originally used as a prison. It was also surrounded by a moat and a surrounding wall. In the 17th century, the mullioned windows of the façade were opened and side buildings were attached to the main body forming with it the entrance courtyard. It was then that Jean de Caupos, who became Viscount of Biscarrosse, renovated the building, giving it the appearance it has today. The 17th and 18th century stone fireplaces have been preserved. A large avenue of poplars offers a view of the lake. Memories of witnesses, now disappeared, evoke a subterranean passage linking the base of the former north-west tower with the wooded dunes beyond the small lake. This castle cannot be visited.
