The Grotto, dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, was constructed to resemble the famous sanctuary. It is situated on the edge of the Kastenwald forest, close to a spring dedicated to Saint Germain de Grandval. The spring, which for a long time was attributed miraculous powers, apparently sprang up after the burial of the saint in the forest in the 8th century. In the 14th century, monks from the Abbey-Church of Pairis erected a chapel near the spring. This chapel was abandoned in 1746, after the murder of two Franciscan hermits who were guarding it. It was destroyed in 1788 and replaced by a small house the walls of which were covered with ex votos. That house was itself destroyed during the Great War. We owe the Grotto to a priest, Georges Ehrhard, who presided over its construction in 1958.

Rebuilt in the presbytery garden, a small 18th century half-timbered building has been converted to house the heritage collections on the history of Grussenheim, the association of the Friends of Annette de Rathsamhausen and the old Grussenheim. Open on request.

Baptism of the air all year round, on the ULM field of Ostheim Maison Rouge, 10 minutes from Marckolsheim. Conditions: children from 6 years old, and weight less than 110 kg.

At the Ohnenheim site 4 kilometres to the south, you can find several tumuli, some of which once contained gold jewellery (exhibited at the Museum of St. Germain en Laye) and the famous Celtic chariot (reconstructed at the Museum of Mainz). These tombs were built by the Celts to honour their dead.

St. Grégoire's chapel is located in the hamlet of Mauchen, to the south of Marckolsheim. Built in 1246, it is the only remaining trace of the village of Mauchenheim, which was first recorded in writing in the year 777. This village, which once had between 200 and 250 inhabitants, disappeared between 1200 and 1300 following a series of pillages, invasions, Rhine floods and outbreaks of plague. A reconstruction of the 18th-century frescoes, outlining part of Genesis, can be seen above the chapel's entrance.

Attested from the fifteenth century, St Gregory church was completely rebuilt in the eighteenth century but retains the base of the medieval tower. The building is surrounded by a cemetery and a small garden. On the west facade, o monumental gate surmounted by a pediment can penetrade inside the building, which has polychrome decorations. A religious museum was housed in a chapel visible from the outside.

It is in this house that with the Middle Ages the inhabitants paid the tax called 'la dîme'. With the revolution, the house of Dîme does not have any more to do, and becomes private property. The inhabitants then make place a sandstone plate representing the head of Marianne framed of two heads of lions.
