If you'd like to cycle from Saint-Emilion to Bordeaux, or vice versa, you can do so on the former railway line, which has been converted into a cycle path and named the Roger Lapébie Trail after the winner of the Tour de France in 1937. The 49km route has one main difficulty, a 4km climb between Branne and Guillac. (n°11-12).

The site of Saint Emilion is a veritable open-air museum, founded according to legend by a modest hermit... A city steeped in history, perched on a rocky promontory, Saint Emilion and its vineyards derive their originality from the limestone that provides exceptional soil for its vines. The Balades à Roulettes® (BR®) are short, leisurely walks, with a pushchair or small bike, or adapted for people with reduced mobility (in a wheelchair), offered by the Fédération Française de Randonnée de la Gironde. CAUTION: Here, the route is on small tarmac streets that are also accessible to local residents' motor vehicles. The route has significant inclines and gradients, making it inaccessible to people in handchairs.

By letters patent dated June 7, 1289, Edward I, King of England and of Aquitaine fixed the boundary between Saint- Emilion and Pomerol at the « Tailhayhat » stream, from which the château gets its name. Purchased in 1932 by Philippe Nebout, the estate has been run by a company created by the Nebout heirs since 1981. Luc is the current winemaker and belongs to the 3rd Nebout generation at Tailhas. The Château du Tailhas vineyard covers 11 hectares in a single unit located on the southern slopes of the Pomerol plateau, bordering on the commune of Saint-Emilion to the east. It is therefore contiguous to the grands crus of that appellation, in the Figeac region. The siliceous soil mixed with fine gravel lies over a subsoil rich in sandstone with iron deposits (« crasse de fer »). Planted with Merlot (80%), Cabernet- Franc (10%) and Cabernet- Sauvignon (10%).

Le Clos Bernon is located in the old quarters of the city of Libourne, a stone's throw from the Condat chapel, the nature reserve and the vineyards. For your stay, we offer three guest rooms on the first floor of the house. The Coco suite is composed of a room equipped with a bed 160, a shower room and a toilet open on the private living room of the suite (sofa bed). The Angel room has a bed 160, a bathroom open on the room and a separate toilet. The Giorgio room has a double bed, a bathroom with shower and bathtub and a separate toilet; it also has an independent access through an external staircase. Each room is equipped with a television. Created in the 11th century by the Knights of Malta, the Château was reborn in the 1990s after being bought by private investors. Come and share this new impetus in a property with refined charm. Renovation of the vineyard and cellars, plantations, soil drainage: the rehabilitation of Château Beauregard is now bearing fruit. At maturity, the grapes are picked by hand and stored in small 30 kilo crates to respect the integrity of each berry. The vineyard surrounds a fine 19th-century manor house and covers the continuation of the sandy-gravel plateau to the west of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion. 1er Grand Cru Classé A - Famille de Bouärd - Closed to the public The estate owes its name to the location of the vineyard, from where the winegrowers could hear the Angelus bells of the three surrounding churches: the chapel of Mazerat, the church of Saint-Martin-de-Mazerat and that of Saint-Émilion. Owned by the Boüard de Laforest family since the end of the 18th century, the estate has gradually expanded and is currently managed by Mr Hubert de Bouärd de Laforest.

Tel: 05.57.55.23.45 In 1759, Jacques Kanon, a privateer for the King of France Louis XV, was defeated by the English navy off the coast of Montreal. On his return home, he used the spoils of his races to acquire a vineyard in St-Emilion. More than 2 centuries later, Chanel bought the property.

In the 8th century, a Breton named Emilion, born in Vannes and famous for his miracles, decided to leave his native land to retire and devote himself to prayer. Travelling along the Atlantic coast, he became a monk and then settled in Ascumbas, the former name of the city of Saint Emilion. Joined by a few Benedictine disciples, he founded the 1st religious community there and evangelised the population, creating a large monastic city to which the faithful gave his name. Over the centuries, several religious communities settled in the village, attracted by the cult of Emilion, as can be seen from the many monasteries, convents and churches that can still be seen today. Between the 8th and 18th centuries, Benedictines, Augustinians, Franciscans, Dominicans and Ursuline nuns lived side by side in the heart of the town.

Listed as a historic monument since 1920. This small Romanesque Latin cross church was built at the end of the 11th and beginning of the 12th centuries, and only became part of the parish of Saint-Emilion after the French Revolution in 1790. In the 16th century, the top floor of the church tower was demolished by the jurats of Saint Emilion to prevent the Protestants from using it as a fortress at the entrance to the predominantly Catholic town, and restored in 1975.
