We renovated the gîte at the end of 2022 with all the necessary comforts, retaining some of the original features but adapting some modern ones: air conditioning, mosquito nets on the windows, modern electric fire for the autumn/winter months. We have an ecological wood-fired jacuzzi which is included for stays of 7 nights or more, and extra for short stays, reserved exclusively for our guests. Adjoining her own house, it took 5 years of renovation, painting and decorating for her to transform it into a comfortable vacation home. Built in an old farmhouse, this large and very independent gite is located on a 6 000 m² lawn. It invites you to a zen stay in the middle of nature and proposes, on the spot, a swimming pool under cover, heated (open from April to November, treated with salt). Bicycles are at your disposal to go by small roads to visit the ornithological reserve of Murat and the Natural Park of the Brenne and its myriad of ponds.

The Benaize river rises in the commune of La Souterraine and forms the boundary between the Indre and Vienne departments. It spreads out in the middle of a green bed to form Lac de Mondon. Captive of the calm waters of the lake, it escapes through a narrow corridor to mingle with the waters of the Glévert, then becomes more tumultuous, encumbered by gigantic rocks. Not far away, you'll discover the rock shelter of the "Pont du Loup" (in the 1960s, flint artifacts were discovered here). Its course is blocked by a rocky outcrop, leaving just a narrow corridor where the Benaize rolls and leaps over a difference in level of around 2m, rushing and bubbling its way out in a sonorous and intense environment forming the Pot Bouillant. In addition to the waterfall, you'll discover the Marmite and Pas de B?uf, natural cavities hollowed out by the tumultuous waters.

The entire park of Château de Las-Croux, designed in 1893 by Limoges landscape architect Nivet, is open to visitors. Entrance is via the "turrets" (neo-Gothic gatehouses with towers and machicolations), the long driveway leads to the former kitchen garden (not open to visitors), with an orangery and greenhouse in the background, the neoclassical pavilion continues on, and further on, the present-day château. Visitors then proceed to the stables (1860), which house 7 horse stalls and 4 carriage sheds, and past the tack room (visible from a window). Most of the trees were planted in the 19th century. Water came from the entrance turrets, which were themselves fed by springs upstream from the pond (hydraulic ram system). Part of today's château is open to visitors: the vestibule, salon, study and dining room.

5-hectare pond. Types of fish: carp, tench, roach, perch, pike and trout in early season. Authorized fishing techniques: angling only. Fishing with soft or metal lures, electronic rods or baitcasting is strictly forbidden. Fishing cards on sale at the "Chez Isa" bar-restaurant (3, rue du Commerce, 05 55 76 28 00) and at the bookshop/press shop (5, rue Albert Joyeux) in Saint Sulpice les Feuilles.

Easily accessible, the leisure runs benefit from 3 rainbow trout releases per year by the federation. Fishing is prohibited on the following days due to releases: March 12-13, April 16-17 and May 28-29, 2021. These sites, broken down on site, allow young and old alike to enjoy their favorite pastime! Situated in the Saint-Sulpice-les-Feuilles AAPPMA area, the course stretches 1.7 km between Mailhac sur Benaize and Saint Sulpice les Feuilles (2nd piscicultural category) from the Mailasson bridge on the D44 (upstream limit) to the Mailhac sur Benaize bridge on the D2 (downstream limit).

Miel du Moulin de Lavaupot is an organic, multiflora honey from beehives set around a family farm. Available at markets and at the mill by appointment 07 82 11 72 88.

The Bouery dolmen is one of the largest in the Haute-Vienne department. The covering table has many rounded cavities: the locals say that children used to have fun making holes while tending their sheep! Legend has it that it was erected by 4 fairies: the one holding the large slab on her head said: "With God's help, I'll manage to erect it"; another, who only had a small stone, said: "With or without God's help, I'll manage to erect mine"; this stone can be seen a metre from the monument...

Spirulina flakes and tablets Spirulina is a microalgae with enormous nutritional potential. I've been growing spirulina since 2019 in 2 100m2 ponds. Harvesting is seasonal (from March to October) and takes place in several stages: filtration, pressing, packaging in ?spaghetti? form, drying at low temperature to preserve all its virtues, then grinding to obtain the famous ?flakes? Finally, I package them (100g) in opaque, airtight sachets. I also offer it in tablet form. In summer, I organize visits followed by a market dinner with local producers, and a concert.

In Mailhac-Sur-Benaize, close to the lake and Mondon campsite, Aux Berges Du Lac welcomes you to its warm dining room and terrace with a breathtaking view of the lake. In the kitchen, Nathalie concocts a seasonal menu using fresh local produce. Home-cooked dishes to delight the taste buds of young and old. The bar-restaurant Au P'ti Creux, located in the town center of Les Grand Chézeaux, offers a workers' menu from Monday lunchtime to Friday lunchtime, and delicious pizzas from Friday evening to Sunday evening, to tantalize your taste buds. Pizzas are available to eat in or take away.
