Throughout the walk, you can admire the abbey church of Saint-Jouin-de-Marnes, the castle of Oiron, the dolmens of Taizé and much more ... are you ready? Follow then from Ligaine, the wooden terminals with a bicycle and green directional arrows. Without indications, continue your way. Good walk between Dive and Thouet!

With this tour, take a step back in time to the time of our ancestors: the Neolithic men. You will not only notice their traces with numerous dolmens and covered walkways but you will also understand why they settled in Loudunais and especially around Arçay and Saint-Laon. The abbey church of Saint-Jouin de Marnes belonged to the most important abbey of Poitou. Founded in the 4th century, it was rebuilt between 1095 and 1130 and fortified in the 14th century. It was an opulent abbey during the Middle Ages. The abbey church is one of the signs of this prosperity, it was built under the impulse of the monk Raoul who became abbot around 1100. Masterpiece of the art of Poitevin Romanesque with exceptional dimensions, it belonged to a grandiose ensemble, including the south gallery of the Gothic cloister and the convent building of the seventeenth century.

Small 16th century castle in Renaissance style with a square plan. It features mullioned windows on all four facades, three dormer windows adorned with pilasters, a stairway tower pierced with loopholes, a watchtower and a brackets above the door. The interior retains three large superimposed chimneys whose hoods are supported by a decorated capital. A door with a drawbridge remains in a nearby communal area, providing a first defence. The castle is framed by a series of easement buildings.

The Romanesque church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, listed as a Historic Monument since 1862, is worth a visit. Its oldest parts date back to the twelfth century, when the style of the novel poitevin reaches its peak. This church, rectangular in shape, has the distinction of having a roof entirely slate.

This water mill, dating back to the 14th century, has been maintained over the years and is now looking to the future by using the hydraulic energy of the Dive River, with which it lives in harmony. A "sagebien" type wheel preserves the charm of the place and drives a generator with permanent magnets which produces an alternating current of 400 volts.
