Nature walks in a farming environmentDeparture Parking Avenue de l'ancienne gare Pass under the bridge (D31) and follow the "Avenue des Sorgues" towards the "Canal du Moulin de Crillon", 500 m away. At the gas station traffic circle, turn right onto "Chemin de la Garonne" and continue along this road for 300 meters. Then turn right at the "Sentier du canal de Crillon" sign. Follow the signs for "Sentier du canal du moulin de Crillon" for about 1.5 km. Turn right onto the path, staying on "Chemin de Castane" for 600 m. Continue on the paved "Chemin de Blancas" to the left, then head due south for 300 metres and take the first road on the left, "Chemin du Receveur". Follow the unpaved "Chemin du Receveur". Opposite the equestrian center, turn right onto "Chemin de Castane". Once on this road, head south to join "Chemin de la Garonne" (tarred). Turn left and follow the road for 1.5 km to the gas station roundabout. Then turn left onto "Avenue des Sorgues" and follow it back to the "Marché agricole" parking lot.

This hill, reaching 134 m in altitude, offers a 360° view of the Durance valley, the Alpilles Alpilles, Mont Ventoux and Caumont.This "sensitive natural area" is also renowned for its renowned for its high biodiversity of birds and and vegetation. Let yourself be tempted by a tour on signposted roads at the heart of the Luberon Regional Natural Park, a protected area since 1977, recognized as a "Biosphere Reserve" and a "Geopark" by Unesco. From valleys to hills on secluded roads, you can explore the varied landscape of the Luberon and Haute-Provence: perched villages, castles, ochre cliffs, vineyards and orchards, as well as traditional and farmers’ markets, stone dwellings…The marking in both directions makes it an ideal itinerary for one or seven days, with friends or family.

A short but singular stroll between cliffs, balms and ledges of the west end of the Petit Luberon. With your back turned to the town hall, take the CHemin de Robion on the left and pass the cemetery. 1 - At the next intersection, continue straight on the road. Pass the Saint-Gens chapel, then 400m further, turn right on the Chemin de Boulon. Turn left on the edge of the woods. When reaching the big clearing of Boulon, go up the paved road for 200m and turn right. 2 – At the pole'Boulon', go down the gravel path and at the mouth of the field and the source of Boulon, turn left and, 50m higher, climb to the right on the path (steep at the beginning). Stay on the right until you reach the foot of the cliffs. Weave through the large balms while enjoying passages of cliff ledges. After the circus of Boulon, pass below the large face of the rocks of Baude. Cross the rock shelter and climb to the breach of Castellas avoiding the steps that descend towards the foot of the massif (the marking is tricky). Cross the breach and switch to the gorges of Badarel. Careful, the trail is quite steep and stony. 3 - At the bottom of the ravine (pole:'The Castellas'), turn right and start the descent of the gorges of Badarel. Caution, it is narrow, steep, rocky and it includes a short passage with a ladder. Continue through the bottom of the valley and reach a track. Head across, then at the first houses, cross a barrier and continue until the Chemin de Robion. 4 - Turn left to return to the starting point.

A world of stones, dry stone walls, nature and silence but not only! From the car park, reach the Avenue Jean Giono and take a left. Continue to the right on Grand Rue to the center of the village ("Mur de la peste" arrow). Pass the church. In front of the fountain, go left onto the Rue du Château. Pass the wash house, go straight and take the Chemin de la Pourtalette. At the calvary, go straight and 50m further, continue across on the Chemin de Muscadelle ("Mur de la peste" arrow). After the paved path, climb straight onto the stony path and the mountain pass (Croix de Lagnes), continue on the path opposite to the Plague wall. 1- Take a sharp right and go along the Plague wall. Upstream, the path deviates somewhat from the wall and goes along it again. Reach under the pines, the crossroads "La Peithe". 2- Turn left, pass through the forest track and at the signpost "Citerne", take the road to the left (GR ®). At the two successive croissing trails, continue straight and head to the valley. Pass one well rocky section and head down again. At the crossroads "Vallon des Esperacons", leave the GR® and climb the left trail (PR). 3 - At the intersection ''Esperacons'', continue on the balcony trail to the right (PR). Pass an edge (panoramic viewpoint at 20m to the right) and continue the path to the left. 4- At the crossroads "Le Soldat" take a left and 50m further, continue to the right. At the Y (point 285), follow the right track. Pass a hairpin bend and descend. At the entrance of a right turn (large pine tree), rush on a path to the left. Below after a right turn, stay on the right track. At the track, reach the D100 to the left. Take the road to the left for 150m and reach the parking area. 5- Take the track that starts to the left along the parking lot. 300m further, leave the trail leading to a house and embark on the path in front. Go down and reach point 1 at the Plague Wall. From there, return to Cabrières d'Avignon through the same route used to go.

THE PALACE GARDENS Recently restored, the gardens are a new attraction for visitors, providing a space for relaxation and a better understanding of the Palace of the Popes as a whole. The Jardin du Pape and the Jardin du Palais join the Verger Urbain V, inaugurated on September 14, 2018, and freely accessible to the public, to complete the triptych of the Jardins du Palais des Papes. This redevelopment is structured into two zones: the Jardin du Palais (or Jardin Benoît XII, 1250m2) and the Jardin du Pape (662m2). The 14th-century hydraulic network was chosen as the structuring element for the design of the Palace Garden, delimiting the large rectangles where Mediterranean plant species attested to in the 14th century in these pontifical gardens are planted. The Jardin du Pape is an intimate garden, with direct access from the papal apartments. The redevelopment of the garden has restored its precious character, with the re-creation of the griffin fountain and the surrounding flower meadow. The famous and imposing Roma building, of which only a trace remains on the ground, has been reconstituted in the form of a monumental pergola, which will eventually be entirely covered with plants. This old covered washer was restored in 1996 and has a structure on square pillars. It is one of the few so-called «standing washers» where women washed upright.

Listed as Historic Monument in 2010, it was inaugurated on October 2nd in 1921. One can read on the pedestal : “to the children of cabannes dead for France” On the backside : «This monument was erected by subscriptions. In memory of the Heroes of the Great War. 1921. On the rock where the «poilu» (name of the French soldiers during First World War) stands : FRANCE ! Per tu li Cabanén an fa ço qu’an pouscu. (France, for you, the inhabitants of Cabannes did what they could).

Built on the site of a Roman monument and contemporary with the château, it retains the allure of religious buildings from the 11th to 15th centuries, with its highly visible buttresses. This 13th century Romanesque church, renovated in 1874, was built with stones from the Convent of the Knights Templar. The 14th century bell tower on the cross-section has a pyramidal spire. Classical-period seigniorial chapels. Two Romanesque Corinthian capitals are re-used in the parish church. Monumental organs dating from 1956.

It dates from the 12th century and meets the characteristics of rural Romanesque chapels of Provence. The windows and front door were the South because of the violent mistral existing windows are not the original that had to be very close and the old front door can still be seen outside the Chapel, on the south wall. Coverage of the chapel was entirely made up of lauzes, the roof has been redone in the 17th century. It is built in Orgon superbly cut stone: these stones were thrusted on the Durance, and then sent to the Chapel by the path of the Devens. It served as the parish church until the 13th century when the Church current, much larger, located at the foot of the castle was built: the village moved so a few hundreds of meters.The fresco behind the altar of the chapel represents the Holy Trinity with the specific insignia of the Carthusians.Jean Girard, grandson of the last prior of the brotherhood, launched a call in 1974 to the penny: this appeal was heard and the chapel was completely restored.

Originally a Roman place of worship, the first Christian chapel was built in the 10th century. It occupies the site of a Roman villa located along the major Roman road linking Spain and Italy. The church is dedicated to Saint Baudile, a Roman legionnaire and deacon who was martyred in Nîmes in the year 300. The remains of an earlier building constructed in the 10th century by the bishops of Avignon, who owned the site, are still visible on the outside (at the top of the grand staircase) and inside (in the last bay under and on the platform). The current building includes several chapels added over the centuries around the nave and apse from the 12th century (classified as a Historic Monument in 1921). The building was classified as a Historic Monument in its entirety in 1999 and is open all year round. Extra information : Due to the good preservation of the building, the church square is sometimes used as a location for filming period films.

The construction of a church dedicated to Saint Baudile was ordered in the 10th century, so as to enlarge an already existing chapel. Saint Baudile was a Roman legionnaire converted to Christianity, who suffered martyrdom in 300 AD in Nîmes. Since then, he has become the patron saint of the Noves village. This Romanesque church occupies the site of an ancient place of worship, which was in the center of a Roman villa. ;

It is on the Lagnel square that a part of the transhumant herds passed the night while waiting to cross the Durance, to leave towards the mountain pastures. Noves remained for a long time anchored in pastoralism and cereal crops: each inhabitant had a few sheep and each house had a sheepfold to shelter them. It is only from the nineteenth century, that the activity of the town is moving towards market gardening and fruit trees.

Porte des Moulins or Porte de l'Horloge.

The Anguillon is a river of 20 km, which has its source in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, at the foot of the Alpilles. It flows from south to north, to go to the Durance, near Châteaurenard. This river has played an important role over the centuries, providing the commune of Noves a refuelling point for livestock transhumance, but also the water needed for irrigation of vegetables and fruit trees.
