Easy hike to the summit of the Danay mountain. From the Lac de Confins, reach one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Aravis, at the crossroads between the communes of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and Saint Jean de Sixt. Ideal for a family outing, the route starts at the Lac des Confins. At the foot of the Aravis mountain range, the scenery is breathtaking, with magnificent views of the surrounding peaks. At the end of the winter season, Lac des Confins hosts the famous Défi Foly, a local event during which the most daring skiers attempt to cross the lake. Heading towards Le Danay, you'll follow a trail through rolling countryside, pastures, undergrowth and clearings. A large cross marks your arrival at the Tête du Danay, the highest point of the walk. From its central position, the Tête du Danay offers a magnificent 360° panorama: on one side, the Grand-Bornand below and the Bargy range, on the other the Aravis range and its numerous combes, with Mont-Blanc in the background. An orientation table at the summit will give you a better idea of the surrounding landscape. Once back at Les Confins, don't hesitate to take the time to enjoy the lake and the many activities available in summer (leisure area, mini-golf, etc.).

The track exploits and plays to the maximum with the natural movements of the ground and alternates between technical portions with slope and relaunch and pedalling portions. It consists exclusively of single-tracks, with alternating leaning, hairpin, fast and flat turns. The trail passes through a variety of forests and meadows, with numerous compressions, slope breaks, bumps and roots. Set up under the impetus of Kilian Bron*, our champion has been motivating some twenty volunteers over two days in the last 3 years to create their own track. And the result is simply brilliant! Located in the Bois de la Motte forest, you'll have a great time on this very rolling track packed with jumps, with of course variants to get around them for the less experienced. The track perfectly exploits the natural movements of the terrain and the forest to provide an ultra-fun and playful experience. Technical yet accessible to most enduro riders. Alternating small fast turns, jumps and slower turns to "break" the speed as the slope steepens. The Plan enduro track can be used at various points, offering a wide range of combinations. The La Grenêche speedway, 2,700 m long and with a 400 m vertical drop, offers even more thrills for the public. Length 2.7km / Ascent 420m / Difficulty blue The first trail to be developed by La Clusaz, this classic single track through undergrowth and alpine meadows is packed with changes in profile. There are no fewer than 19 contoured bends and several steps to negotiate, starting from the top of the Crêt du Merle chairlift.

Between pasture and forest, a playful itinerary with combe crossings and wood edges. Finish the trail with a succession of forest paths and small roads. At the arrival point of the Crêt du Loup chairlift, the start of the Juments trail is below, at Ferme de Lachat. The end of the Juments trail is marked by Ferme de Crêvetout. From here, there's a wonderful view of the Étale massif, Tête Cabeau, the Beauregard plateau and the Tournette summit (in the background). To continue, pick up Crosscountry trail 13 directly, and the rest of the continues on a superb single through woods and meadows to the Col des Aravis road. The route gives way to a stretch of road, but quickly reverts to single tracks offering unparalleled views of the resort. The route ends on a downhill profile that leads to the center of La Clusaz village, via a succession of 4x4 trails, forest tracks and small roads. From the Crêt du Merle chairlift, the Bois de la Motte route follows a wide slope, ideal for beginners. With a mostly downhill route and no major difficulties (apart from a few small passages with roots at the end of the course), it will allow you to reach the resort in complete tranquillity. Length 2.3km / Vertical rise 178m / Difficulty green

It's a varied track that alternates perfectly between winding slopes and fast, rolling sections. Use of terrain movements interspersed with switchbacks, hairpin bends with bumps and roots. Despite a small difficulty at the start of the course, this cross-country route is intended for beginners to occasional mountain bikers. With beautiful views of the resort and the Aravis mountains, it takes you through forests and meadows to Lac des Confins. The "Sainte Foy Church of La Clusaz was built in 1821 according to Camille Ruphy's plans, architect of Annecy. There has been a church in La Clusaz since 1285. In 1974, the church was extensively rebuilt as it was in a state of disrepair. The bulb bell tower was built between 1751 and 1762. This characteristic is no doubt the alpine expression of baroque art, which was at this time, to be seen on various monuments in Europe.

La Clusaz has several chapels round the village. Fernuy chapel, built in 1738, is located at the Fernuy ; Ste Anne chapel, built in 1650, is located at the Col des Aravis ; Parc chapel, built in 1631, is located at the entrance to the village ; The Var chapel, built in 1676, is located at the Var ; Gotty chapel, built in 1691, is located at the Gotty ; the Confins chapel, built in 1834, is located at Les Confins.

We invite you to discover this magnificent valley, the birthplace of the Reblochon cheese, through which the Borne river flows between the gentle alpine slopes of the Lachat mountain, forests and the steeper rocky outcrops at the foot of the Aravis range. You can walk through the hamlets with their hundred year old chalets, roofed with wooden shingles, their chapels and the many farms, evidence of thriving agriculture.

Standing above the village of Le Grand Bornand, with panoramic views over the Aravis chain, the chapel of Le Nant Robert is well worth seeing. It was founded in 1762 and renovated on several occasions during the course of the XX century. The chapel was founded in 1762 by the residents of Le Nant Robert. It is placed under the patronage of Saint Anne, the mother of Mary, and of Saint John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus. With the exception of the overhanging roof-edge just above the main entrance, added during the XX century to protect from humidity, the chapel still looks much as it was in the old days. There are two little windows on each side of the doorway. Several renovations took place during the 1950's (1955 and 1958), also in1994. The chapel interior was repainted in 2000. The chapel has a steeple with a quadrilateral base. Hanging in the steeple is the bell, cast in the Meunier foundry in Chambéry in 1819. François Rey was the bell's godfather and Marie-Justine Rochet its godmother. Inside the chapel the central painting, dating from the XVIII century, is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and Saint François de Sales, who was Bishop of Annecy during the XVII century. Above it is a crowned Virgin and Child, surrounded by cherubims. There is also a statue of the Virgin and Child with two columns on either side, two candelabras and two kneeling cherubs. Above is a brightly painted altar cross, probably dating back to the XVIII century. Finally, you will notice the impressive Stations of the Cross, drawn in Indian ink. The artist is believed to have been Napoléon Thom.

Authentic house and a model of 19th century rural architecture, the Heritage House, the ecomuseum of Grand-Bornand, bears witness to the traditions and know-how that forge the identity of the village. Rearranged as it was at the end of the 19th century, the Heritage house invits you to enter in the yeasteryear inhabitants' life and to discover how traditional houses, built for families and animals, were organised.

The original cemetery was situated for a long time immediately around the church. In the mid-XX century, it had to be relocated so that a new village square could be built in front of the Tourist Office, the Town Hall and the church. Until the mid-XIX century, the cemetery was located just below the church, on the Aravis mountain side. In 1816/17, following very heavy snowfall, the church had to be rebuilt. During work on the new foundations, bodies were discovered all around the church. In 1850, the Prefect ordered that the cemetry be moved. To pay for the work, former residents of Le Grand Bornand who had left the village donated 2400 pounds and a further 660 pounds was raised by the villagers themselves. The new cemetery was relocated to a field just opposite of the main door of the church and it was inaugurated in 1854. The original site became free for the building of the first village hall. By the end of the 1950's, winter tourism was developping fast in Le Grand Bornand. There was pressure to design a more functional village square to serve the needs of the Town Hall and the Tourist Office. Building the new square also enabled the development of shops and restaurants. At the same time, the 1921/1923 war memorial, which used to be beside the main road, was relocated to be beside the new cemetery site. This is how the cemetry came to be moved once again, between 1957 and 1963, to its present site beside the Borne river and on the road below the Tourist Office.
