Les Franciscaines was founded in 1877 as an orphanage, then a military hospital, a domestic school, a vocational high school and finally a "home for the elderly sisters". It had a thousand and one destinies before it was renovated by the town of Deauville. A rebirth for a new vocation: to become Deauville's multi-cultural center, bringing together in a single building: the media library, museum collections, temporary exhibitions, concerts, conferences, shows, a FabLab and a restaurant. Since its opening in May 2021, Les Franciscaines has attracted 450,000 visitors, with a local (4,000 subscribers), regional, national and international reach. It is the operational tool of the City of Deauville's cultural policy. A place of innovation and artistic effervescence for all generations, Les Franciscaines offers unparalleled cultural experiences.

Historic residence built in the early 20th century for Baron Henri de Rothschild, then acquired in 1924 by the American tycoon Strassburger and bequeathed to Deauville by his son in 1980.

Canappeville's Arboretum is located on the edge of a forest that has the PEFC certification. 7.5 hectares that are ideal for a walk, to explore the forest and have a look at the different tree species. The arboretum now comprises 35 Norman species (horse chestnuts, beeches, oaks, etc.) and species from all the continents (30-metre high sequoia, southern beeches from Chili, Oriental spruce, etc.). There is a 1,100-metre long signposted trail you can follow for your self-guided tour. Information panels provide details about some species.

Christian Drouin invites you to discover its estate: amidst beautiful settings, this former Norman farm is representative of the local architecture of the 17th century, with typical half-timbered buildings. Discover the richness of calvados, its history and production secrets while visiting our family owned calvados distillery. While visiting the estate we will explain you the harvesting, the mashing and the distillation process but also the art of storing and ageing calvados. After the tour you will enjoy a tasting of product which will include cider, pear cider, pommeau and calvados. The quality of our production has been awarded 600 medals and prizes in local and international Spirit competitions. A passion for calvados spanning three generations !

Established within the former Dominican convent, a restored 16th and 17th century half-timbered building, the "Pont L'Évêque… the story of a town" exhibition offers you an insight into the history, economy, monuments, residential architecture and personalities of this small Augeron town.
