Circular walk around Haut-Koenigsbourg

The circular walk linking Haut-Koenigsbourg to the ruins of Oedenbourg offers a delightful immersion in the heart of the castle’s wooded grounds. Accessible to all, this very easy trail of around 1.4 km winds its way through shady woodland and open viewpoints, allowing visitors to appreciate both the site’s natural beauty and its historical heritage. Along the way, walkers can discover the ruins of Oedenbourg, which are often less frequented and lend a wilder, more authentic atmosphere to the walk.
This short loop is an excellent option for a family outing or a break in nature whilst visiting Haut-Koenigsbourg, with no particular difficulty or significant elevation gain.
Please note: until summer 2027, due to ongoing works at the Bastion de l’Étoile, only around 80% of the route is accessible.
