From the La Traverse greenway, a bucolic loop on all paths around the bend in the Reyssouze, topped by the small village of St Jean. A succession of hills and valleys to the châteaux of Montiernoz and Girod, with their bridle paths.
A pause in front of the beautiful church, which boasts a remarkable 15th-century porch. The porch is supported by pillars known as "St Jean's elephant feet".
A short detour to the Haute Serve mill is a must.
Enjoy the scenery, with its sweeping views over the Mâconnais and Jura regions.
Other departure points: Jayat, Plaine Tonique leisure park, Marsonnas and St Jean.
