Day Hike Houffalize - Ardennes plateau and hisorical paths

Start from the tourist office and head to the "Pré Lion", a lovely green area in the center of the city, rich in historical memories.

At the intersection with the post office, turn left and follow the trail of the Escapardenne (sign white wave on a blue rectangle). This route leads you to the village of Tavigny.Tip : By leaving the city, admire the vestiges of the mill and the Lemaire tannery, dating from the 18th century.

Explore this village with its authentic charm while staying on the Escapardenne. In addition to the castle, Tavigny is a fine example of a built heritage, with its church, several walled gardens and typical old farm buildings.

At Bernistap farm, leave Escapardenne and turn left onto the road. Follow the GR57 (red and white lines).

Follow the GR57 through the village of Cetturu. At the fork in the road, turn left, following the signs for « Lihérin ».

At the crossroads with the Alhoumont road, turn right, heading north. Continue on your way by taking the first right, heading north-east. Continue straight ahead, then cross the Ourthe Orientale using the first bridge on your left and head towards Brisy.

At the Y junction, near a Christian cross, turn left to go down towards the Sommerain stream. Cross it and follow the yellow rectangle markers 11 - Sommerain to the next crossroad.

At the intersection, take left then directly right to head south. Continue your route until you reach the next junction.

Turn right onto the meadow-lined track and follow the path to the road (Rue Saint-Anne). Go down this street until you see the Spar brand. Turn left and reach Place Janvier 45, end of this tour.
