Starting from La Tour du Pin, this route will quickly take you up into the mountains. From there, numerous mountain ranges will unfold before you: Bugey, Chartreuse, Epine, Belledonne... So come and cycle to see them!
Start / return (parking):
- Station of La Tour du Pin.
Take the train to La Tour du Pin and discover the heights of the Vals du Dauphiné.
From the train station, you'll cycle through the small town of La Tour du Pin to tackle the climb to the Hauts de St Roch (1.7km at an average gradient of 4.4%), a key stage for the 2025 French National Cycling Championships for Juniors and Elite riders in 2026. After the climb and enjoying the views, you'll continue along a gently rolling but not particularly challenging route. You can then appreciate the tranquility of the Vals du Dauphiné and, once again, its many viewpoints, such as when you arrive in Dolomieu and the Tournette, the iconic mountain overlooking Lake Annecy, comes into view. After passing through Dolomieu, you'll continue your ride until you begin the descent (maximum gradient of 11%) to the hamlet of Passeron before returning to La Tour du Pin.
