N°38 Cabanes et crêtes du Layens
Description
The steep south side and its rocky peak give Layens a sense of real pride from the valley. The top of this summer pasture is home to several cabins and gives hikers amazing 360 degree views.

Légarce Plateau
From Col du Bergout, head right between the two cabins. Go up along the chicken wire, straight into the slope. Fork right on a track and get onto a stony path along a fence. Distance yourself from the fence to go up a lovely grassy slope towards the Cabane de Légarce. Before the cabin you'll reach a slight flat.
Crêtes du Layens
Start the descent to the west by following the ridge towards a weather station. Continue the descent until you reach a flat. Fork right and take a fairly direct steep track. After this grassy section in the karstic side turn left when you see a passage at the foot of the rocks.
