Steps
Point 1
Quittez la place en direction de l’église, empruntez le jardin et passez sous le beffroi. Prenez à droite la rue du Maréchal Joffre et rejoignez l’Office de Tourisme.
Point 2
Empruntez le sentier à droite, entre l’Office de Tourisme et la porte Fauroeulx. Grimpez sur la gauche et suivez à droite le bord du bastion Vert – prudence. Pour les personnes sujettes au vertige, préférer le sentier du bas. Rejoignez la place Tournefort derrière le kiosque à musique.
Point 3
Croisez le kiosque et descendez à l’intérieur des remparts au pied du demi-bastion du Château. Continuez à droite sur 400 m.
Point 4
Sur la droite, un écriteau « passage » vous invite à effectuer une visite du site du New Zealand Forces Memorial. Revenez sur vos pas et continuez à droite par l’itinéraire principal. Sur la contregarde, cheminez entre deux étangs.
Point 5
Traversez la route au niveau de la porte Saint-Martin et poursuivez en face sur la contregarde Soyez, devant le bastion du même nom.
Point 6
Montez l’escalier, retrouvez la demi-lune de la Porte de Valenciennes, coupez la route. De l’autre côté, descendez l’escalier en bois au pied du monument aux morts. Cheminez dans le fossé, longez le demi-bastion du Château César puis l’imposant bastion Royal. Au bout, traverser la route.

Continuez tout droit le long des remparts et de l’étang, au pied du bastion Impérial. Après un coude à droite, en cul-de-sac, empruntez la galerie à gauche. Au bout, sortez et grimpez les escaliers – prudence – et suivez le sentier à droite.
Point 8
Prenez à droite le sentier ; au bout, tournez à droite. Avant la porte Fauroeulx, faites le tour du square Daniel Vincent en tournant à droite. Retrouver le point 2 place du Général Leclercq et revenir au parking.

Mémorial Néo-Zélandais (New Zealand Memorial)
Occupé depuis 4 ans par les allemands, la ville de Quesnoy a été libérée par la Rifle Brigade, contingent néo-Zélandais, le 4 novembre 1918, le Mémorial des Néo- Zélandais, situé dans les remparts, a été inauguré en 1923 par le Maréchal Joffre. Ce bas relief est régulierement visité par les Néo- Zélandais venus du bout du monde. Le Quesnoy entretien une relation privilégiée avec la nouvelle-Zélande depuis 2000, la ville est jumélée avec Cambridge (ville de l'île de Nord)Accés libre au Mémorial.
