Point 1
Empruntez la rue principale, à gauche, en sortant du parking.Rejoignez tout droit la chapelle Notre Dame des Affligés au vitrail bleu. Suivez la rue à gauche.
Point 2
Au T, continuez à gauche puis à droite sur la rue en sens interdit. Virez immédiatement à droite sur le chemin en schiste noir, qui grimpe au point « haut » du circuit. Panorama sur la plaine alentour et table d’orientation. Redescendez par le premier chemin à main gauche et prenez de nouveau à gauche en sortant du parc. Avancez sur la route bitumée jusqu’au hangar agricole.
Point 3
Tournez à droite sur le chemin. 250 m plus loin, prenez à gauche le sentier herbeux, passez devant l’oratoire du « Grand bon Dieu », et une fois le cours d’eau franchi sur une passerelle, virez de suite à gauche à angle droit.
Point 4
À l’intersection, poursuivez sur le chemin à droite que vous ne quitterez pas jusqu’à atteindre l’aire de pique-nique et la Voie Verte de la plaine de la Scarpe, propriété du Département du Nord. Faites fi des chemins que vous croiserez mais notez le paysage de prairies humides soulignées par des alignements de saules têtards, caractéristiques de cette plaine de la Scarpe.
Point 5
Traversez la Voie Verte et suivez en face le chemin caillouteux puis herbeux qui effectue une boucle dans le marais de Fenain. Profitez du calme pour écouter les nombreux oiseaux présents. Vous quittez cet agréable chemin par la droite en traversant une pâture et retrouvez la Voie Verte.
Point 6
Partez à gauche sur la Voie Verte et ne la quittez plus jusqu’à son terme. En chemin, notez sur votre gauche la centrale thermique d’Hornaing, passez devant l’ancienne gare de Fenain, et traversez la RD 343 avant d’emprunter le dernier tronçon. Des alignements de saules taillés en têtards et des haies ont été plantés pour renforcer le caractère et la fonction de corridor écologique de cette Voie Verte.
Point 7
Face au stade, allez la droite, et, lorsqu’il devient impossible de continuer tout droit, tournez à gauche et de suite à droite pour emprunter une voyette.
Point 8
Tournez à gauche rue Ghesquières puis à droite sur la petite voie. À son extrémité, tournez successivement à gauche, à droite et à gauche, et retrouvez votre point de départ.
