Itinerant hiking : The little loop of the Valserine

1720 meters, it is the altitude of the Crêt de la Neige, which dominates the ridges of the Jurassic massif. It is accessible on foot and snowshoes, by the marked trails: GTJ, GR9 and crossing of the Valserine. Accessible in summer and winter by cable cars.It is located within the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve. Its regulations must be observed.

In the heart of the village of Chézery-Forens in the Parc Naturel du Haut-Jura, the gîte "Chez Dario" is just a stone's throw from the river La Valserine and 12 km from the Monts-Jura resort, ideal for skiers and snowshoe trekking.The gîte has been carefully arranged by Françoise so that you will find all the comfort and pleasure you need for a perfect stay in the mountains. At "Chez Dario" you will find : - a large living room - well equipped fitted kitchen, a balcony with direct access to the outside. - communicating living room that can be converted into an independent bedroom with a comfortable double bed - independent WC and washbasin - On the first floor, two independent bedrooms, each with 2 single beds side by side, with a small desk. One bedroom has a ground floor access to the village square. - Shower room, Italian shower - Separate WC. Bicycle and motorbike garage available. It was once the boys' school and is named after a much-loved Italian woodcutter. Since the 12th century Chézery has a long history with a busy abbey in the Middle Ages. In 2019 the house was completely refurbished.

Crêt de Chalam rises to 1,545 m and takes the form of a pointed summit.Visible from several peaks in the Jura Massif, it is a historically rich place, with the Lion Milestone. The view from the summit is breathtaking, both over the Haute Chaîne du Jura and the Alps. From Chézery-Forens approx. 10 km. From Lélex about 20 kilometers.

It is the second highest peak in the Jura range (1718m), from there, you discover a panorama on the pays de Gex, the Lake of Geneva, the Alps range and the Mont-Blanc. The summit is marked with a cross, erected in 1892 by the people of Thoiry.Le Reculet is located within the Haute Chaine du Jura National Nature Reserve. The regulations in force must be respected.
