Departing from Champs-sur-Tarentaine-Marchal, this hike progresses through the woods to discover hidden, authentic hamlets.
Dry-stone walls are the signature of the Artense landscape. Dry stone is a construction technique of popular and rural origin. It originated in the Neolithic period, when man first began to cultivate the land. These low walls show the extent of the work carried out by the "older generations", their sturdiness and the undeniable graphic quality of the result.
Departure point: Champs-sur-Tarentaine-Marchal swimming pool parking lot.
Take the D679 towards Bort-les-Orgues, then fork left on the path leading down to the Moulin de Champalier.
