PR 8 : Le Chemin des Chats

Part of this itinerary follows an ancient Roman road and a path decorated in naive style by Artense schoolchildren as part of a school art project in the mid-1990s.

On the long, difficult climb from Sarran to La Bonnetie, the route follows a paved path lined with low dry-stone walls. This is one of the many remnants of the Roman roads that once criss-crossed the Sumène Artense region, and the Auvergne in general.

Departure point: Place de l'église, Champs-sur-Tarentaine-Marchal.
Take the road towards Fournols, to the left of the médiathèque municipale.
