This limestone grassland, located on the right bank of the Aisne valley 26 km south-east of Laon, is, according to the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels (CEN) des Hauts-de-France, which manages it, one of the "most original natural habitats in the department [of Aisne]". It lies close to the communes of Oeuilly and Pargnan and is part of the Coteaux du Chemin des Dames Regional Nature Reserve (RNR). In terms of flora and fauna, connoisseurs will be able to spot Hyssop officinale - the only place in Picardy where you can find this southern plant! - or see the dreaded Mantis religiosa in the tall grasses!
Please respect these natural jewels when you visit (we would remind you that picking is strictly forbidden) ! For more information on the upkeep and management of this site : www.cen-hautsdefrance.org/reserves-naturelles.org/
