On this short bike ride, you travel from village to village, enjoying a peaceful rural atmosphere among meadows and fields. A must-see stop is the old cemetery of Warmifontaine, a fine example of 19th- and 20th-century funerary art, where slate and cast iron are the main materials used for the monuments.
Along the route, you’ll also pass historic washhouses, such as the Harfontaine lavoir, which features a display about the local slate mining work and includes a picnic table for a relaxing break. The Grandvoir lavoir, dating from 1889, is contemporary with the other washhouses in the municipality and offers a great insight into local heritage.
The circuit is 19 kilometres long and mainly follows quiet secondary roads. Between nodes 34 and 36, there is a short 300-metre section of gravel, but it is possible to take a roughly 2-kilometre detour to avoid it.
