Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

/ From the start sign at the bottom of the parking lot (Fenestre park sign), cross the bridge over the Vendeix and immediately descend to the left to pass under the bridge. Follow the stream and, when you come to the wooden bridge on the path, turn right.

/ Go straight ahead (beware: another PR towards the footbridge) and take the stairs on the left (playground). Continue straight ahead; pass between the leisure center and the mini-golf bar and exit the park. Turn right onto the road to the sawmill. Pass the entrance; take a footpath to the left and another to the left. At the T-junction, fork right. At the fork, continue right and keep right. Cross the wooden footbridge and climb the steep path through the forest. At the houses (Vendeix haut), go straight on (AR 400 m la Roche de Vendeix) and descend to the stream. Cross it and go up to the road; turn right, then immediately left (Le Pregnoux) to the road. Turn left to reach the hamlet (Vendeix bas).

/ At the drinking trough, climb right (view of Roche de Vendeix) to the plateau (view of Banne d'Ordanche and puy Gros). At the T-junction, go down to the left and, at the fork, continue to the left. Climb behind the two houses (panorama). At the fork, continue left to Rocher de l'Aigle (1232 m). Descend along the main path, ignoring the paths on the right, to a fork. Turn left up the stairs to a house and a water tower. Pass the drinking trough and continue left along the small road to the crossroads in Le Pregnoux.

/ Turn left into rue Beneton as far as a fork in the road, then left (Fenestre) up a steep track. At the crossroads, take the second track on the right, as far as a meadow. Follow the path along the fences (view of La Bourboule and the Dordogne valley) to the intersection at the entrance to Le Quardoux. Turn left along the road to the drinking trough. Turn left, then right. Pass a wash-house and go down to the stop sign. Cross Avenue d'Angleterre; take allée Martine Roche and enter Parc Fenestre (gate). Cross the platform of the former gondola station and go down to the footbridge to reach the starting point.
