This itinerary on the Serre plateau, a fine example of inverted relief, offers superb views of the Monts Dômes and Monts Dore, as well as Lac de La Cassière. Attentive hikers will spot dry-stone shepherd's shelters.

1/ From the parking lot, walk up the small street towards the village, past the church. At the drinking trough-fountain, turn left. 100 m further on, turn left into rue du Sabotier. Before the cross under the linden trees, turn left, then immediately right onto the path that climbs to the main road.
2/ Cross the road and continue straight up (chemin de la Vigerale). At the "patte d'oie" (crow's feet), go straight ahead and cross a fence, then a second one (close it tightly after crossing). On the right, you'll see several views of the Chaîne des Puys and the Puy de Dôme. Continue to the end of the wood.
3/ Under the high-voltage power line, turn left along the edge of the path (views of the Chaîne des Puys, Lac de La Cassière and Lac d'Aydat). Cross a large track and continue straight ahead. At the "patte d'oie" (crow's-foot), turn left to reach a 2nd "patte d'oie" (crow's-foot), where you continue straight on to the road.
4/ Cross the road and continue on the good pozzolana path. At the end of this path, take the gravel path on the left, between two low walls. Continue downhill to the parking lot.
Yes. All dogs must be kept on leashes because of the presence of herds.
