Three lighthouses were built in the Camargue to avoid shipwrecks that sailors were afraid of because of the lack of relief and precise outline: the Faraman lighthouse visible at nearly 55 km, the Beauduc lighthouse and the Gacholle. The latter has a height of 17 meters and is powered by a wind turbine. Sailors distinguish it by its green, white and red light
From Pertuis de Rousty, you can reach Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer by continuing the dike. The village is 6 km from this point.
